  • Set in a peaceful location and a great location for exploring the Solway Coast and Northern Lakes

Set within the grounds of a working farm and surrounded by beautiful Cumbrian countryside, this delightful cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway. With the Lake District National Park a short drive away and the stunning sandy beaches of Solway within walking distance, there’s plenty to do, whatever your mood. An additional bed makes it a great choice for small families, and two dogs are also welcome here, meaning nobody needs to be left at home.

This one-bedroom rural retreat is one of three enjoying a peaceful location on the outskirts of Allonby. It has a welcoming feel from the moment you arrive, with many traditional touches including exposed beams, which add to its character. The stone fireplace with gas fire takes centre stage in the cosy lounge, where you can put your feet up after a busy day of sightseeing. The dining table in this room is also perfect for any romantic meals you may fancy rustling up in the contemporary kitchen. The double bedroom is both warm and inviting, making it the ideal place to rest and recharge, before you wake up to those beautiful views. Enjoy some al fresco drinks and dining as you relax in your fully enclosed garden, while the four-legged members of the family explore.

Stretch your legs on Allonby’s sandy beach before enjoying a drink in the local pub, which is 1 mile from the cottage. Cockermouth (10.5 miles) is the birthplace of William Wordsworth and packed with independent shops, restaurants and galleries. Pull on your walking boots or take to two wheels to enjoy one of the many trails that surround the cottage. If you’re feeling adventurous, head deeper into the national park and take on Skiddaw (20 miles) which is a great climb for those looking to take on higher peaks.

  • 1 bedroom - 1 double and 1 additional single bed
  • 1 bathroom - Shower room with WC

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Beautiful, clean cottage and surrounding areas. And the owners are fabulous too, organizing some amazing birthday treats (with the help of my daughter) for my arrival. We will definitely be returning!

Parts of the shower had mould. Difficult to wash at the bathroom sink without banging head on the ceiling. Anyone six foot would struggle.

Lovely, clean and comfortable cottage that is well equipped with all the essentials. The owner proactively contacted us with all we needed to know prior to our stay and then again after our stay. Wouldnt hesitate to stay there again.

We had a nice few days. The cottage was clean and well appointed. The walk down the road to the lovely beach was fine and there is a footpath from Marina House but it's a bit over grown. Very nice area to stay.

It was perfect. Everything you need for a weekend stay. Comfortable, clean and warm. Mrs Hale was a great host, we arrived late on Friday and she had put the heating on and left some food, for us to rustle up if hungry. We will be going back. Great location Great walks with the dogs. Thank you

Very nice clean cottage. Dog enjoyed the 1/4 mile walk from cottage to road twice a day. However we were disappointed that we had to drive to the beach. Although it is within walking distance it is a very narrow winding road with tall hedges and we didn't consider it safe to walk

This is the second time we have stayed at this cottage and was just as happy with it this time as we were last time. We chose the location specifically for the dogs and the fact that it is quiet and away from other people.
