The picture postcard village of Coniston (5.5 miles) is also a great starting point for some super walks and climbs, while the fabulous woodland trails at Grizedale Forest (9 miles) will keep you entertained for hours. Wander around the ancient village of Hawkshead (9.5 miles) and visit the Beatrix Potter Gallery, where you’ll learn more about her work and love of the Lake District.
