Boasting some fantastic views across to Lake Windermere, this first-floor apartment enjoys a superb location in the peaceful village of Far Sawrey. Sleeping five people across three bedrooms, and with one dog welcome to join you too, this is an idyllic spot for a family holiday. Winding footpaths leading from the front door to some of the Lake District’s most popular sites, make this a great choice for outdoors lovers.

 

This pretty apartment is located up a staircase within a grand country house, offering elegant accommodation with many period features. The open-plan living area is a sociable space with a large bay window providing spectacular countryside views to the mountains beyond. Settle down onto the comfortable sofas and enjoy a family film, while budding chefs whip up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. Tired hounds will enjoy stretching out in front of the open fire, which can be found in the kitchen area. Recharge those batteries with a restful night’s sleep in the three relaxing and calming bedrooms. Those lucky guests waking up in the master bedroom will be treated to that wonderful scenery, too. Outside you’ll find plenty of spots to sit in the extensive shared gardens, while the dog has a roam.

 

Follow the footpath which leads from the apartment to the summit of Claife Heights, which has a purpose-built viewing platform with superb views of Lake Windermere. If you love the water, hop on a pleasure cruise across the lake. The local pub is a short walk away if you don’t fancy cooking, while there are also some fantastic places to eat and drink in popular Hawkshead, 3 miles away. Have a go on a Segway at Grizedale Forest (3 miles), which is packed with some lovely woodland trails.

The grounds & views were beautiful. The amount of cooking equipment given was great! The beds were comfy. It's a shame to have had to say about the cleanliness but I would rather you know as its an easy fix then it would have been 5 stars all round. Little bit of cleaning in the entrance hallway would also help. Overall a lovely place to stay!!

The Morning Room is a lovely apartment and the gardens were perfect for our granddaughter and our dog to play in. The views from the apartment are wonderful and the food served in The Cuckoo Brow, just down the path, was really good.

A very relaxing and comfortable stay. The views, peace and quiet do not disappoint! The apartment is very well equipped and spacious. Very well located for many local excursions with lots to do in the area. Just be warned about the potholes! Will return again in the future.

This is a lovely old house in a wonderful location, with fabulous views to the front, accessible for local attractions and the ferry, it is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The Morning room apartment is spacious, and well equipped, in keeping with an old victorian building, with comfortable beds and all the amenities of home.

The best thing about Sawrey Knotts (we stayed in the Morning Room) is its position. Great views, accessable walks from the property and a great pub in the Cuckoo Brow Inn. Insufficent logs for the New Year period, what was available were wet. Open fire does not throw out much heat and burns logs rapidly. The Morning room was well equipped, but dateRead mored furniture, certainly not luxury accommodation as described at the entrance gate. Would i return to Sawrey, yes but not to this property. Hide

Great accommodation with great views felt very warm and cozy without the log fire and they put a Xmas tree up for Xmas. Nice goodie basket but would of liked more essentials like tea bags, sugar, and cleaning stuff. 2 rolls for a weeks stay

We loved this property, spacious, comfortable and views to die for, the bed is the most comfortable we have ever slept in and a very thoughtful welcome pack was much appreciated. We would be back in a heartbeat! And we will!!!

A very comfortable stay in a wonderful location for an excellent price - especially for the time of year. Our flat was clean and well-equipped and the little extras - such as the welcome pack and games and kitchen utensils - were most welcome. Would be very happy to return.

A lovely, very well equipped apartment in a beautiful setting. Peaceful and comfortable - everything we could want from a holiday. The Cuckoo Brow Inn is a short walk away, handy for drinks and meals and Lake Windermere is maybe 15 mins walk. Highly recommended.

Fantastic stay over Christmas, the apartment was just what we imagined. It has a beautiful view and was comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen.
