Located in the heart of the popular village of Hawkshead and within walking distance of its many shops, pubs and restaurants, you’ll find this delightful 16th-century cottage. It can accommodate up to five people across three bedrooms, along with one faithful hound, making it a great choice for family holidays. It’s also a super base from which to explore the nearby Lake Windermere and the many local walks and trails in the area.
Retaining many period features, giving it real character, this inviting home also features all the contemporary touches you’ll need. The lounge/diner is decorated in warming colours to give it a homely feel and making it a welcome spot to put your feet up after a busy day of exploring. The wood burner adds to the cosiness of this space on chillier evenings. If you’re not eating at one of the many local pubs, rustle up something tasty in the stylish kitchen before retiring to the three pretty bedrooms, which are all decorated in a warm, elegant style. One is to be found on the first floor while a further two are up a second flight of stairs. Step outside and take a seat to the front of the cottage or on the picnic bench to the rear, to enjoy your morning cuppa.
Pull on your walking boots and head out on one of the many local trails that pass your front door. Both Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are within 5 miles of the property, offering many hiking routes and water sports for those feeling a bit more energetic. Hop on a boat and enjoy a pleasure cruise across the water, before exploring the fascinating Wray Castle which overlooks Windermere. Nearby, follow the footpath that leads to Claife Heights, a stunning purpose-built vantage point with incredible views.
