Take a walk around Lake Windermere (5 miles) or Coniston Water (4.5 miles), hop on a pleasure boat or try out paddle boarding or canoeing. Grizedale Forest (3.5 miles) is a great family day out, with high-ropes courses, woodland walks and a sculpture trail.
