This is a well equipped cosy cottage and surprisingly spacious, we had no problems with 8 adults. Having cycle storage was a big bonus for us. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice and the kitchen well equipped. We were there in extreme snowy icy weather and struggled a bit with the access roads, until eventually we gritted the yard and the roaRead mored outside from bins further up the road. Location is great for short walks from house to Tarn Hause in particular. We had a great time. Hide

We really enjoyed our stay at Black Fell cottage. A lovely welcome package with coffee and treats on arrival. The property warmed up quickly and was cosy throughout our stay. The beds were comfy which is important for us when we are away. Lots of fridge and food storage space. The cottage is a mix of modern bathrooms and cosy more traditional livinRead moreg spaces. We had a late autumn stay with long evenings playing games and enjoying the space. Parking easier with smaller cars we had 3, one large Hide

Lovely and spacious cottage with good views from large garden. Peaceful location. Comfy beds and nice bathrooms. Sitting room a bit dated but not a problem. Good value for money considering it can sleep 8 across 5 bedrooms.

Great location, lovely enclosed garden and views, spacious accommodation, everything you need, dog very happy too, we keep returning! Only improvement would be a dishwasher and holiday cottages not charging such a high damages waver.

Cottage was in a lovely peaceful location with a large garden which was secure for our large breed dog. Wonderful views from living room and garden. Bathrooms very good and beds comfortable. A little updating/extra housekeeping would benefit some areas but overall we enjoyed our stay and the dog loved the outside space.

Cottage is decent - biscuits, chocolate, tea & coffee on the side as welcome gift. A bit tatty - strong odour from the open fire smell can be described as a strong unpleasant smoked bacon odour even though we didn't use it as it was missing a coal guard. Garden is NOT dog friendly if your dog has to be on a lead. Garden turns into a mud pit during Read morethe rainy days. Drive way is very narrow and steep. Lots of bedrooms and toilets which is great. Heating throughout which kept us very warm. Hide

Black Fell is a lovely, clean and comfortable cottage in a great location. It had ample room for our large party of 6 and a dog. The views from the lounge were stunning no matter what the weather and the garden is fully enclosed. It makes a great base to explore the local lakes of Windermere, Coniston and Tarn Hows and Hawkshead is minutes from theRead more cottage (great fish & chip shop!). Hide

This cottage has decent sized bedrooms, modern bathrooms and wonderful views. The garden has a little stream at the bottom and is perfect for a dog. Very quiet location. The location is perfect for Coniston and Hawkshead with plenty of walks to do. Wed definitely return.

The location of the house is perfect and the views out the livingroom windows were amazing. Bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were brilliant - however the livingroom really let's the house down. It's tired with scrapes and holes in the plaster. Would stay again due to location - a little face lift to the livingroom would be the icing on the cake
