From the centre, walk up the Carron Crag to enjoy stunning views across Coniston Water. Coniston (9 miles) offers a range of water sports to try, as well as many boat trips if you’re taking it easy for the day. Head into Hawkshead (4.5 miles) where you’ll find some great places to eat.
