If you’re eating in and fancy doing some cooking, then look no further than the farmhouse-style kitchen which meets all your modern needs. The dining area is a comfortable space to enjoy a snack or a hearty breakfast, while the light and colourful lounge is the perfect spot to put your feet up and enjoy a good film or a chat over a glass of wine. You’ll be drifting off to sleep in no time in the comforting bedroom, which is a lovely place to snuggle down. Step outside into the shared courtyard or garden to soak up the peace and quiet, and on warmer evenings fire up the BBQ.
Pack a picnic and head to the beach at Grange-over-Sands (3 miles) and stroll along its famous promenade. Foodies will find plenty of great pubs and restaurants to choose from in Cartmel itself, as well as the chance to try its famous sticky toffee pudding. For water sports and some stunning walks around the shore, Lake Windermere is packed with things to do, while the National Trust’s Fell Foot Park (6 miles) is great for a paddle.
