Tucked away in a small hamlet between Troutbeck and Kentmere, this quaint one-bedroom cottage is a wonderful romantic retreat. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and welcoming two canine companions too, it’s a walker’s paradise with many trails of varying distance on the doorstep. With a popular pub 2 miles away and the famous Lake Windermere a short drive, this is a great base for exploring the stunning Lake District.
Contemporary touches and stylish design combine to create a welcoming space for your break. The open-plan living area features a chic kitchen which has everything you need to rustle up a snack or a meal for two, which can be enjoyed at the dining table. Snuggle up on the comfortable sofa and enjoy your favourite film with a glass of wine in hand. Soothe tired muscles with a long soak in the free-standing bath or a refreshing blast under the walk-in shower in the bathroom, before heading upstairs to bed. Cottage-style stairs lead up to a pretty mezzanine bedroom, which is set under the eaves with reduced head height. From the living room, step outside into the charming walled patio area and take in the peace and quiet with your morning coffee.
One of the many walking routes passing the cottage is a 2-mile trail that takes you to Ings, a pretty village with a great local pub. Windermere (2.5 miles) and Bowness (4 miles) both boast an array of shops to explore, as well as the chance to hop on a boat or steamer trip to see the lake from a different perspective. Explore the museums and castles in the historic market town of Kendal (8.5 miles), which is home to the famous mint cake of the same name.
