Situated in the heart of the village of Cartmel with a pub less than 50 metres away and plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes within half a mile, this beautiful property promises an unforgettable escape to guests. Sleeping six over three stunning bedrooms with an extra two guests in the romantic annexe, this charming property is an opportunity to explore the local area but also travel further afield into the spectacular Lake District, including Lake Windermere (17 miles) and Coniston Water (22 miles). And if you need a day at home, relax in the beautiful garden, looking out towards the raised beds and small trees.

Leave your coats in the boot room and step into the bright and airy kitchen where shaker-style units give it a farmhouse-style atmosphere. The kitchen features a new range cooker and is well equipped with everything you could need to prepare a lovely meal. The elegant dining room with peaceful tones of white and blue is a pleasure to eat meals in; retire to the seating area after lunch and look out to the garden through the French doors. The sitting room provides a relaxing, comfortable place to sit and chat. Couples can hide away in the studio-style annexe that has its own shower room as well as a cosy sitting area to curl up in. The other three bedrooms are all individually decorated. The master bedroom has a lovely king-size bed with views over the green, the second double benefits from a dual aspect of the green and garden and the twin bedroom is ideal for childrenwith a great view over the garden to the hills beyond. All the rooms are very comfortable and will ensure you have a peaceful night’s sleep. The bedrooms share a very smart modern bathroom with shower over bath.
Set above the garage and accessed via its own entrance, a studio annexe offers a secluded space away from the rest of the house. This modern suite with pitched ceilings and Velux windows comprises a king-size bed, sitting room area with TV and shower room, perfect for couples in search of a spot of privacy while away, or older children who can enjoy their own space and an element of freedom.
While the property provides ample space for a party of 8 this accommodation is split where six can comfortably stay in the cottage and two can stay in the fabulous annex, so lounge and dining space in the cottage alone are better suited to a party of 6, especially if all adults.
Take the children to Lakeland Miniature Village (4 miles) where they will delight in over 100 buildings made from local Coniston slate, or head to Fell Foot Park (9.5 miles) where there’s an educational tree trail and plenty of spots for picnics. Take a ride on Coniston Water on the National Trust’s Steam Yacht Gondola (24.5 miles) or hire kayaks or canoes to experience it for yourself. Wander the ruins of Furness Abbey (24.5 miles) or Wray Castle (20 miles) to add a bit of history to your trip.

The cottage was ok, few cleaning issues! Location good. Annexe was nice. Fires didnt work. Beds not comfy. Well equipped for cooking for large groups. Probably wouldnt return. As wasnt value for money. 5 out of 10.

We had a wonderful holiday at this lovely cottage. It's in a fantastic location in the lovely village of Cartmel. Everything was within walking distance, great pubs and restaurants. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. Great walks from the doorstep too.

Good location, easy 5 min walk to village centre, Pig & Whistle opposite with good food and also deli and convenience store, We had an issue with the central heating in the annexe sorted by company quickly ( and it was Easter Sunday!) nice welcome pack Quality furnishing in the house but the kitchen was cluttered - nowhere to put food in cupboards Read moreand some repairs needed eg bedroom windows Hide

This was our second stay at Town End Cottage having previously come 5 years ago, and we had another great visit. The cottage is well located in the beautiful village of Cartmel and has convenient off street parking. It is well equipped and laid out, making for a very comfortable stay. We really enjoyed our time here and may well return again!
