Built some 200 years ago, this charming cottage has been beautifully refurbished to create a rural retreat in the popular village of Cartmel. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, along with two loveable hounds, this peaceful home is perfectly suited for couples or small families. There are some wonderful woodland and mountain walks on the doorstep.
Just a short walk from the village square, this property beautifully combines traditional features with contemporary styling. A large hall steps down into the welcoming living areas and the lounge, which is a cosy and restful space. Exposed beams, sofas and a roaring wood burner make this a lovely spot to unwind with a glass of wine. Wandering through into the dining area, you’ll find a bright and welcoming space with natural light flooding in. The open-plan style continues into the chic kitchen, which is equipped with everything you need, while a door leads out into the walled garden. Upstairs there are two comfortable king-size bedrooms which are both tastefully decorated with antique furnishings and pretty designs. The stylish bathroom is also on this floor. Step outside and have your morning coffee on the small terrace to the front of the property, or the walled garden to the rear.
Cross the small iron bridge outside, to the opposite side of the river, and enjoy a picnic on the private riverbank. Cartmel is a foodie’s paradise with some great places to eat, as well as the chance to try its famous sticky toffee pudding. Stroll around Eggerslack Woods (3 miles) or put your feet up and hop on a cruise across Lake Windermere (6 miles).
