Situated in the heart of an idyllic Cumbria village, this traditional cottage makes a fantastic holiday home for up to ten guests. Opening onto the cobbled square in the centre of Cartmel, this beautiful, spacious and welcoming property provides fabulous accommodation for families and groups of friends eager to explore the southern part of the Lake District. A beautiful three-floor Grade II-listed property, the house retains many original features including impressive ceiling beams, exposed stone walls, wooden floorboards, flagstone flooring and a cosy wood burner.

 

Stepping into this tastefully decorated property, the attractive, beamed lounge is a perfect space for you to curl up in front of the wood burner with a good book or watch a movie on the Smart TV. Exposed beams are also feature in the spacious and inviting dining room, a fabulous space for gathering around the oak table and enjoying a celebratory meal, which you can rustle up in the bright and well-equipped kitchen. The oak staircase leads up to the first floor where there’s a bathroom and three lovely bedrooms: a twin room and two king-size rooms, one with an en-suite shower room. The second floor features a bathroom, a cosy double bedroom and a charming twin bedroom set in the eaves, with low sloping ceilings and exposed beams. The enclosed patio garden provides a lovely spot for al fresco dining.

 

The property is located next to a friendly village inn and makes a wonderful base for a relaxing Lakeland retreat. Cartmel is home to a racecourse and a medieval priory, as well as a wide range of restaurants and shops. Windermere and its renowned lake are to the north (7 miles), or you can head south to explore the Cartmel Peninsula and Morecambe Bay. Also nearby are Ulverston, Grange-over-Sands and Coniston Water (all within 15 miles).

The house was in a perfect location in the centre of the village. It was equipped and decorated to a very high standard whilst retaining comfort and character.
