Within easy reach of Windermere and Coniston Water, this stylish first-floor apartment makes a wonderful holiday home for families and couples exploring the heart of the Lake District. Offering magnificent views across Esthwaite Water, this attractive apartment offers light, warm and relaxing accommodation for four guests. The apartment is part of an impressive country house within a 40-acre estate with shared gardens and woodland featuring streams and waterfalls. The property is just a few hundred metres from the water’s edge, and you will also have access to seasonal rowing boats.

Entering this tastefully furnished and elegantly decorated apartment you will find the beautiful open-plan lounge/diner. This relaxing space is perfect for unwinding in at the end of a memorable day, with a Smart TV/DVD, plenty of seating, a wide choice of books, and window seats offering superb views over the lakes and fells. The inviting dining area is ideal for sharing a family meal and admiring the surrounding views. The apartment also has a fully equipped kitchen as well as two delightful en-suite super-king-size bedrooms. Outside, you will have access to the woodlands and shared gardens of the surrounding estate. There’s plenty of seating situated over various levels, and the children’s play area has swings, a climbing frame, tennis tables, and pitch and putt golf.

Esthwaite Lake is a popular location for trout and pike fishing, and is a favourite spot for ospreys. The local village of Hawkshead (1.5 miles) has a number of friendly pubs and cafes, and is home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Within easy reach are Beatrix Potter’s farmhouse at Hill Top, Moss Eccles Tarn and the Claife Viewing Station overlooking Windermere (all within 2.5 miles). Wray Castle (3.5 miles) is further north along the Windermere shore, or you could head west to Coniston Water (4.5 miles).

If you like the Langdales, Coniston and Loughrigg walks then this is a great, peaceful location to base a holiday. Despite the october half-term weather we were warm and comfortable, with good car parking and it gets ASDA deliveries to the property timed for just when we arrived (book well ahead from the Kendall store). Baths were hot and the clothRead morees washer/dryer worked well. Only the internet was SLOW for uploads - so no good for working while away but OK for weather reports & emails. Hide

A great apartment in a fabulous location. That bay window ...wow we will miss that view! Really comfy and well equipped place and the golf and table tennis in the grounds were a hit too. Fabulous walks directly from the door as well as the rowing on the lake and short drives to kayaking, swimming and lovely towns.

Broomriggs is a phenomenal place to stay! The building is lovely, and apartments 10 was spacious, well laid out, well equipped and comfy - home from home! The gardens are a great place to chill out or play, and access to the Lake and rowing boats is brilliant. Alec, the caretaker, was helpful and friendly, great tips about local walks and nature. The apartment was beautiful from the decor to the views and gardens. Only wished we could have stayed longer. Lots to do and see plenty of books on walks for all ages and ability. Ive already recommended it to friends and going to go back with family and book a few apartments.

Wonderful cottage in an absolutely beautiful countryside. The cottage is new refurbished, cosy, very clean, and well equipped. It also has lots of toys and books for kids. Our little boy loved to play with it. You can have some nice walks directly from the cottage. All absolutely brilliant. Broomriggs is a lovely place to stay in a beautiful location. Flat 10 was clean, beautiful and well-appointed, with everything we needed and a lovely welcome gift of several treats from local shops. Lovely setting. enjoyed the beautiful view over the lake. Very clean and well decorated. Alex the caretaker was very helpful and informative about the property and grounds. Enjoyed the use of the boats on the lake. Don't normally go back to same area or property but would go back to Broomriggs as still lots to see and do.
