Plan a truly memorable break in the Lake District with a stay at this spacious holiday home at Redmain, overlooking the Derwent Valley, 3 miles from Cockermouth. The attractive farmhouse sleeps 16, making it ideal for several families or a large group seeking somewhere special to celebrate together. The eight-bedroom, detached house is set on the edge of the national park and enjoys glorious viewing out across its picturesque surroundings.

 

Open the front door and wander into the lounge, where everyone can spread out on the sofas to watch the Smart TV, while the wood burner glows. Take in the views from the sunroom, which adjoins a boot room. Prepare hearty, English breakfasts in the farmhouse kitchen to set you up for the day then sit down to eat together at the long table in the dining room. Find you have a pantry, complete with dishwasher; a WC and a utility room, with extra fridge and freezer space, plus a washing machine and tumble dryer. Find one double bedroom and a shower room on the ground floor, while up on the first floor are a double bedroom and two twins, each with an en-suite shower room. Two more steps up will take you to two more double bedrooms and two super-king-size rooms, each with either an en-suite shower or bathroom. Soak up the sunshine and the views from the outside relaxation area on summer evenings. Find generous parking at the farmhouse.

Ideal for Bassenthwaite Lake, 6.5 miles away, and Whinlatter Forest Park, 10 miles’ drive, it is also well-situated for anyone seeking to be within reach of a town. Comfortable and warm sunroom, but heating could not be adjusted and few windows opened in any of bedrooms. Lovely views from garden, ie the parking lot in front of house, but seating (two benches) was broken and not maintained. On entry, Cleanliness was very dodgy in two of the 8 bedrooms and bathrooms, though maintenance came quickly when called. This was probably the best equipped and most comfortable of all the houses we as a group have stayed in. There was plenty of space to sit together and to eat together. The kitchen was very well equipped

The house is in a lovely location and set up really well for a large group. It has the best equipped kitchen of any we have stayed in. Boot room, pantry and utility all made cooking and storing food easy. We loved the space and particularly enjoyed the stunning views from the conservatory. Place is brilliant. Absolutely huge and, even in cold weather, it is very warm through out the whole house. Three utility rooms and two dishwashers made cleaning everything up so easy. We all loved it and hope to come back next year.

Really well set up for a larger group of people. We stayed there with all of my family (4 seperate households) for a week and it was excellent. The fact that every bedroom had an ensuite was a huge bonus. Multiple sinks, two dishwashers and loads of equipment made the catering easy. We had a wonderful week as a family at Redmain Hall Farm. The house was very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We were so glad of the drying room where our boots, coats and washing dried in no time at all. Fantastic house for large friends or family gathering. Really comfortable lounge and beds adn a well equipped kitchen. Views are super and really close to Cockermouth for shopping etc. Access to the northern lakes is easy and plenty of northern Wainwrights to climb

Very spacious rural retreat. Well equipped ,warm with comfy beds and lovely log burner. In a quiet, lovely area of the north lakes with easy access to Keswick. Friendly and helpful owners/ contact and locals. We were a party of 10 and had plenty of room. Lots of fridge and freezer space and glasses etc. Pleasant outside space with beautiful view.

The location was fantastic with great walks available from the house. For 16 people having a mix of doubles and twins all with ensuite is amazing. My one small criticism was the downstairs bedroom had paint flaking off the walls all over our stuff and hardly anywhere to store our clothes.
