This elegant property for four guests is located in the sought-after village of Cartmel with an abundance of amazing outdoor space to enjoy.

Sitting in a peaceful setting in one of the Lake District’s loveliest villages, this elegant country house in Cartmel sleeps four people over two bedrooms and welcomes two canine companions. It’s the ideal village retreat for small families or groups of friends who want to spend their days strolling the promenade in Grange-over-Sands or kayaking at Lake Windermere, and their evenings BBQ-ing in the property’s lovely garden or sipping wine around the wood burner in the living room.

Step inside and make your way through to the stylish kitchen/diner to rustle up some dinner for your loved ones. If it’s a cool evening, light the wood burner and get everyone together to eat in the dining area. If it’s warm, open the bifold doors to the patio and fire-up the charcoal BBQ. Dine alfresco while you enjoy the views, and then head to the second patio area, further down the garden, with a glass of wine. If you enjoy a little seclusion, this ‘hidden patio’ area is perfect. Or turn in to catch up on your favourite TV shows in front of the second wood burner in the living room. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find two lovely bedrooms upstairs.

The village of Cartmel is often referred to as the prettiest village in the Lake District, so it’s an absolute delight to discover. Stroll along its quaint cobbled streets, check out the ancient priory, or book yourself a meal to remember in a Michelin-star restaurant. If you like to live it up, treat yourself to a day of excitement at Cartmel Racecourse (0.5 miles). Or head for the coast and the elegant seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands (2 miles) to take a stroll along the promenade.

The cottage is in a perfect location , close to the centre of Cartmel, amenities within 10mins of walking; shops, pubs, cafes and the beautiful Priory. A beautiful cottage: really well appointed and beautiful furnishings/ surroundings. This is an excellent cottage for a stay in the Lakes. We were very comfortable here and loved Cartmel. The local produce left by the owner was a lovely treat. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.

Our second visit and we would not hesitate to recommend this house. The house has everything you need and with the shops, pubs & restaurants less than a 5 minute (flat) walk youve everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Beds are really comfortable, quality bedding and its extremely quiet. Parking at the door was available for our weeks staRead morey and owners kindly leave a permit in the house for guests use. We really enjoyed our holiday at Brookside, we visit Cartmel often and loved the location of this cottage. It was really lovey inside and very comfortable. We had very unsettled weather so loved coming back to a cosy cottage each day.
