Penrith has a range of friendly restaurants, pubs and independent shops, with local attractions and landmarks including Brougham Castle, the Penrith and Eden Museum and the remains of Penrith Castle. Local Lake District highlights include Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens, Lowther Castle and Gardens and the northern edge of Ullswater (all within 12 miles).
