Ideal for a larger family or friends seeking an idyllic retreat, this fantastic barn conversion has plenty of original features and is perfect for experiencing the fells, lakes and woodlands of the north-western part the Lake District.

 

Entering this attractively updated property, the welcoming lounge provides a delightful spot for everyone to gather and relax. Featuring an original stone wall and exposed beams set in high ceilings, the lounge also benefits from a wood burner and floor-to-ceiling windows letting light stream in. With a Smart TV, Wi-Fi speaker and plenty of seating, the lounge is perfect for a relaxing evening together. There’s a fully equipped kitchen/diner, ideal for cooking a celebratory meal and enjoying it in style. The property also offers five bedrooms (four en-suite): a ground-floor king-size bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe, two singles, a king-size room, and a queen-size room with amazing views. Outside, the patio makes a lovely spot for al fresco dining and admiring the glorious scenery. There are 200 acres of private pasture and woodland to explore, with streams, ponds, and access onto some stunning fell walks.

 

Bassenthwaite Lake is within easy reach (4 miles), with local attractions including the Lake District Wildlife Park, The Lakes Distillery and Cockermouth Golf Club (all within 6 miles). Cockermouth (5 miles) has a variety of pubs, shops and restaurants. At the head of Derwentwater, Keswick (11 miles) is a popular centre for a range of outdoor activities.

We came to this property to celebrate a 60th birthday with family including children, I was a little worried before we arrived in case it wasnt big enough, but was pleasantly surprised , it had plenty of space. All the bedrooms were lovely. The barn was perfect for our stay. I would definitely recommend.

We were very impressed with the property. Very well equipped. Very comfortable with spectacular views. Great seeing the sheep outside the kitchen window. Lovely welcome basket. We would recommend it and would love to return for another holiday. We celebrated my mums 90th in style. Thank you.

Beautiful Lakeland property with incredible views , nothing but sheep as neighbours and owlets squarking at night .A very tastefully decorated, spacious , modern open plan living area . Excellent bathroom and bedroom facilities we especially chose it for the downstairs bedroom and bathroom for elderly parents this worked well. Lovely kitchen with pRead morelenty of seating. A stunning location in a remote and relaxing spot. Plenty of space to breathe for a family of 8 and 2 dogs .Bedding and beds and were some of the most comfortable weve experienced, we all had very restful sleeps with the sound of the local owl. A beautiful barn conversation for up to 8 family members and our dogs. Greatly enjoyed by all in this lovely location although it is quite remote from amenities. So ensure you take plenty of food and drinks with you. We recommend a visit to the local cafe at Bassenthwaite station for good food on board the train!!
