The cottage is perfectly placed to explore the southern lakes bus stops on the door step if needed, the cottage itself was lovely but let down slightly by the cleaners taking short cuts and not cleaning under neath thing (the sofa had a thick pile of dust and dog hair underneath and a pair of old socks were left under on wardrobe) some of the crockRead moreery needs replacing as it has chips in we were a party of 4 and found the kitchen and front room very tight so for 6 it would be a squeeze Hide

The cottage was really nice and clean had everything we needed, bit chilly some evenings/mornings, however the wood stove was fab. We were a bit disappointed with location but that's our opinion (this is no reflection on the cottage)but overall had a nice break.

Lovely cottage, all as shown in the pictures, very helpful local knowledge book with walks and local activities. Driving needed most days to visit different places but generally a good base to explore Windemere, Coniston and southern lake district.

Lovely clean cottage. We thought reviews mentioning the noisy road referred to the (not too far) main road but that's not a problem; however the minor road through the village is indeed more noisy than expected.
