Retaining plenty of original features including a warming wood burner, wooden beams and stone flooring, this delightful property is just a couple of miles from the banks of Bassenthwaite Lake and makes a fabulous getaway for eager walkers, nature lovers and climbers.
Entering this welcoming property, the cosy lounge has a lovely, beamed ceiling, with a roaring wood burner, Smart TV and plenty of seating, providing a peaceful space for everyone to sit back, watch a movie or chat about the day’s adventures. Stepping through to the dining area, this is a lovely space for enjoying a family meal together while taking in the views towards Skiddaw. The ground floor also has a charming and fully equipped kitchen, as well as a handy shower room. Going upstairs, there are three bright and cheerful bedrooms: two king size and a single. Please note, two of the bedrooms have low sloping ceilings. There’s also a family bathroom on the first floor. Outside, the pretty country garden is a charming spot for sitting out on a lazy summer’s evening.
The cottage is close to a friendly village pub and makes a great base for exploring the northern part of the Lake District. Lying in the shadow of Skiddaw (5 miles), Bassenthwaite is perfect for climbers and hikers, with Binsey, Lowthwaite Fell and Whitewater Dash all in the vicinity. Other local attractions include Mirehouse and Gardens (3.5 miles), the Lake District Wildlife Park (2 miles) and the bustling town of Keswick (7 miles).
