Lose yourselves in the beauty of the Lake District when you stay at this inviting, three-bedroom, country cottage, in the delightful village of Grange. Perfect for a family or group of six, this holiday home also welcomes a pair of delighted dogs. Well positioned for valley and hill walks, it is in an excellent location for climbing Borrowdale’s Castle Crag or Dale Head, as well as for canoeing, kayaking or even a steamboat trip on Derwentwater. Spend hours in Keswick, with its interesting shops and good choice of cafes and restaurants; go mountain biking and wildlife watching in Whinlatter Forest, 9 miles away and also known for its adventure play areas. See the famous Castlerigg Stone Circle, 6.5 miles from your base.

Open the front door on to this whitewashed cottage and follow the hall into the lounge. Lay a fire in the wood burner and settle down to a film on the smart TV as it roars. Enjoy the spectacular views from either end of this welcoming room. When mealtimes beckon, amble through into the kitchen/diner to prepare delicious treats for your party. Find there is a fridge, dishwasher, cooker and microwave in here and that the cooking area opens into a dining space, where you can gather at the table together. Enjoy the benefit of the utility area, with its washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer, when it comes to dealing with damp clothing or doggy towels after long walks and find there is also a ground-floor WC. Climb the stairs to discover two double bedrooms and a twin at first-floor level. The family bathroom, with WC, handbasin and shower above the bath, is also up here.

Our 6th stay at Crag Lea. The location is perfect & the house itself is lovely. During this stay the log fire made the lounge warm & the dark evenings very cosy. In our opinion one room is starting to let the property down....a new bathroom with walk in shower would be beneficial & would be much easier & safer for guests who find it difficult climbRead moreing in/out of baths. Elsewhere we noticed many of the soft furnishings are in need of replacing....they are starting to make the house feel 'grubby'. Hide

Perfectly located, clean, well equipped cottage with comfy beds. Gorgeous views front and back, and lots of local walks meaning we didnt use the car for 3 days. Nice enclosed garden which my spaniel couldnt escape from. We had a lovely week. The location is perfect for views from every window, walks from your door and a coffee shop two minutes walk away. The cottage itself is lovely and well equipped. We spent some time indoors when the weather was awful and enjoyed some of the games and use of the TV. The log burner was very tempting - I can imagine in autumn and winter it would be a Read morewelcome addition. Love this cottage, all the essentials and really clean and comfortable. Views are amazing and the garden was beautiful and very secure (my spaniel tested it thoroughly and couldn't break out). Would definitely recommend this as a base for exploring the lakes.

Lovely comfy cottage, well situated in the heart of the Lake District, yet easily accessible by car and bus. Well equipped Kitchen, wood burning stove and three nice bedrooms .. dog friendly set up with an enclosed back garden. We had a great time, thankyou!

Excellent family accommodation ticks all the boxes and having the electric vehicle charging pod was a bonus ! Location location location and amazing views from every window.(dont even mind the washing up with views like that ) our second visit and we will definitely rebook . Crag Lea is in such a beautiful location - stunning views from the front and the back windows. Lots of walking from the door, and only a short drive to Seathwaite to start the hike up to Scafell Pike. The village coffee shop is well worth a visit and Keswick is nearby for food shopping. Well be back!

What a lovely cottage. The area is great with a great cafe a few doors down. Easy access to Honister and Keswick area. Lovely walks around the area, including Catbells. Another enjoyable stay at Crag Lea which we find to be a basic, comfortable accommodation in a perfect location. A bathroom re-vamp would certainly enhance the property. There are some lovely walks straight from the door & a secure garden to relax in when the weather is kind.

Love, love, love Crag Lea. It's charming, well equipped and more importantly in the most incredible, peaceful, picturesque location. We were blessed with fantastic weather so didn't spend much time indoors but when we weren't out walking round and near the beautiful Derwent water it was great to be able to sit in the garden enjoy the views and watcRead moreh the wildlife. We loved our stay there and were very lucky with the weather. The views from the cottage are amazing. Its a great location and our grandson enjoyed fishing in the river down the road. Good bus service from the main road too.

Lovely cottage with superb views north to Skiddaw and south down the Borrowdale Valley. Sheep and lambs in the surrounding fields. Very peaceful. Comfortable, nicely furnished. Cosy cottage located in Borrowdale with fantastic views north and south. Perfect location. Very well equipped kitchen-diner. For part of the week we were six adults and it was just about big enough for all of us. But for the rest of the week it was four adults and very comfortable. The size of the cottage is great and the location is amazing. The kitchen is well equipped although the fridge and dishwasher are too small for 6 people. The beds are awful and need replacing, the shower is useless and you are not able to change the heating which is set to 10 degrees over night so we had to get up every few hours to boost the heatiRead moreng so it was warm enough. This cottage does not provide towels but we missed this on the information provided and it was not emphasised on the final Directions/Keysafe information email so we were incredibly shocked on the New Year bank holiday weekend to arrive to no towels. The surroundings is absolutely beautiful and have the amenities that one needs, besides the fact the dishwasher not working but informed only through a note on arrival. However, of course we managed. But black damp was found behind a bed, on walls and ceilings which did grow whilst there, seriously needs addressing. Some stranger turned up for launRead moredry mid week left gate unlocked, we have two dogs! Then last day of stay just about to leave, a delivery of new dishwasher, really! Not impressed! Hide
