This charming cottage is set in a walker’s paradise with mountain views, nestling within the Lake District National Park.

Situated near the Kilnhow Beck in the friendly village of Threlkeld, this country-style cottage offers inspiring views for daily walks and family bike rides. Head towards the market town of Keswick (5 miles) and discover the Pencil Museum and Puzzling Place House of Illusions, or set sail on Derwentwater (4.5 miles). Further afield, visit the spectacular Aira Force (10 miles) in a beautiful woodland setting by Ullswater where you can also spot red squirrels and birdlife. For a thrilling descent, head to Whinlatter Forest (9 miles) which has fantastic mountain bike trails, Segways and tree-top climbing adventures, with a backdrop of mountain and lake vistas.

Step inside this handsome holiday home and store coats and boots in the convenient enclosed hall porch. After a hike on the fells, head into the living room and warm hands by the toasty wood burner set into a sandstone fireplace. Settle into cosy seating and enjoy favourite programmes on the TV with Freesat and a DVD player. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen which has an eye-level electric double oven, electric induction hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher, plus the comfort of electric underfloor heating. Gather around the large dining table and enjoy your delicious feast as you catch up on the day. There’s a separate utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, and airer; and a convenient ground-floor WC. There’s a step up from the kitchen to the conservatory where you can relax and enjoy the garden views. Head upstairs to find the family bathroom with a bath (with hand-held shower attachment), separate shower, and WC, plus a cosy double bedroom, all on the first floor. The remaining bedrooms are tucked into the eaves on the second floor: a stylish double bedroom and a children’s bunk bedroom (please note there are some sloping ceilings on this floor).

Outside, take six steps up from the rear terrace to the dining patio area. There are three further steps from the dining patio to the beautiful lawned garden surrounded by shrubs. Enjoy magnificent views towards Blencathra. The front garden features pebbled slate. Your can park 1 small car with the gate closed and further Off-road parking is available for two cars at the side of the cottage or 3 cars can park with the gate open. This cottage was perfect for our family holiday, with a spacious kitchen which was great for some family meals together (all the kids have moved out so having dinner as a family was just amazing!) each bedroom had what you needed - comfy bed, enough space to pack your things away for the week. Each room had beautiful views of the mountains whether Read moreit was cloudy or sunny! furthermore, there was enough parking for 3 cars! It was nestled in a very quiet village with a pub next door! It was our first time staying Rose cottage. The location is beautiful and perfect place for hiking and relaxation. The cottage is well equipped, we did not use anything we brought from home. We enjoyed our stay so much, would like to visit there again soon!
