Nestled in the hillside overlooking Buttermere Valley, this delightful cottage offers a peaceful and secluded position less than 400 metres from the shores of Buttermere. Sleeping up to seven guests and perfect for families and groups of friends, this is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding lakes and walking trails.
Before entering, take a moment to absorb the stunning views of local mountains and lakes. Head inside and find that the charm continues in the lounge thanks to its exposed ceiling beams and crackling wood burner. Gather here after days of adventure, sinking into the soft seating and choosing from the selection of books and boardgames. When stomachs rumble, head through to the well-appointed kitchen and find all you need to cook up a Cumbrian feast. Gather in the dining room to enjoy the chef’s work – retro-style furnishings and a pretty window seat set the scene for memorable mealtimes. Each night, retire to a choice of four sumptuous bedrooms, all with chic decor and wonderful views. Find a king-size room with an en-suite shower room on the ground floor, while up on the first floor await a family bedroom with a double and single bed, a cosy single bedroom, and super-king that converts to a twin on request. A well-equipped family bathroom, shower room and separate WC complete the interior. Outside, the large garden is delightful, featuring a mountain stream busy with local wildlife, as well as plenty of lawn space and outdoor furniture with a BBQ for al fresco meals together.
The village of Buttermere, with its charming pubs and cafes, is just a 500-metre stroll away, and the shores of Buttermere are even closer (200 metres). Two paddleboards are provided to guests to help explore the waters of this famous lake, while walkers will prefer the 4-mile circular trail around the water’s edge.
