Known as the Adventure Capital of England, you can spend days exploring all that Keswick has to offer. The bustling market town has plenty of exhilarating activities and caters for rainy days with museums, The Puzzling Place and the cinema within half a mile from your door. Board a boat from the local launch and head out across Derwentwater for a fun, family-friendly day out and hop on and off to visit the lakeside villages and scenic spots such as Catbells (5 miles by road), Lodore Falls (4 miles) and Portinscale (2 miles). Dine out and treat yourselves to a night off from being chef and complete your evening with a show at the Theatre by the Lake (1 mile).

Make your way inside this period home with Georgian charm and head into the hallway. With space to store shoes and coats on your return from days out, the hallway is full of character and quirk and the floor is uneven in places. Take a small step down to the kitchen where you will find a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven with gas hob, a microwave and a tumble dryer. Plate up at the table in the dining room which is heated by a coal-effect gas fire. Locate the washing machine by the back door and find a shower room with WC. A handy ground-floor super-king bedroom can be made up as a twin bedroom on request. Upstairs, the spacious and light, dual aspect lounge has a coal-effect gas fire to keep you warm as you switch off in front of the TV/DVD. Sink into the comfortable sofas to unwind in style. The next bedroom is a king-size room that resides on this floor along with a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a separate WC. To find the remaining bedroom, ascend steep stairs and find yourself on the top floor which commands staggering views. The twin bedroom is a tranquil space yet has restricted head room due to a sloping ceiling and exposed beams. From this room you have views of Grisedale Pike and Catbells.

Take your morning tea or coffee outside and sit in the paved yard with a picnic table – perfect for starting your day with a breath of fresh air. The garage opposite has parking for one car.

  • This property will be decorated for Christmas

The location and size of the property was great( particularly the lovely lounge) but the bed on the first floor was very uncomfortable and needs replacing it gave us both sore backs! Make sure you cover your car over the bonnet with the cover in the garage to prevent pigeons pooing on it!!

Excellent location in the heart of Keswick . Well equipped and the garage is a real bonus but beware of the overnight pigeons!!

The cottage is in the most perfect location! Step out the doors and you are right in the heart of Keswick, yet it was quiet and on a really pretty little street . Everything was spotless and the kitchen is really well equipped with everything you could need. All the rooms are big and airy and the upper rooms have amazing views too. Parking at the bRead moreack is really handy, but a tight squeeze for larger cars. Watch out for the pigeons who roost in the garage! We covered the car at night! Hide

Great property in a great location. Lovely big comfy living room. Would happily stay again! Just don't forget to bring hand towels for the bathrooms as well as bath towels (tea towels and bath mats were provided though).

Absolutely lovely cottage has everything you need, very clean and tidy, comfortable beds. Is in an excellent location for all shops, pubs and restaurants. Perfect for our family of 6 we hope to come back in the near future Would highly recommend this cottage.

Another enjoyable, too swift week at this property. We were very comfortable in this lovely, well-positioned old house. The layout takes a bit of getting used to and the stairs to the upper bedroom are very steep so would better suit the younger members of any party. Good water pressure and heating.

This cottage is in a great location and having off road parking is a real bonus. The cottage is light and airey, all the rooms are good sizes, its like a proper home from home. We loved it and would definitely recommend.

Fantastic location, spacious property, well equipped. Loved the upstairs front room. Views are great both sides. Parking is very limited if you travel in more than one car or have a pick up truck! We didn't have to move our car all weekend as everything in Keswick is within walking distance. Pubs and restaurants are all excellent nearby, cinema is Read more2 minutes away and local shop opposite open late. Don't forget to take towels, washing up liquid and wash pods. Hide

This cottage is ideally situated for the centre of town. Once we were used to it, the first floor lounge made perfect sense, as you were above anyone passing by the front of the house. The garage was surprisingly big, we could fit either a Kia Sportage or Skoda Estate in without overhanging into the passageway.

Lovely, deceptively spacious property. The kitchen is a little on the small side, but well equipped with everything we needed and there is a separate dining room. Great central location. The beds are really comfy. We wouldn't hesitate to book this property again and would definitely recommend.
