The market town of Keswick is a popular spot for visitors to the Lake District. It has a wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants and bars, and also boasts a number of tourist attractions such as museums, climbing walls and crazy golf courses. Travel less than 1 mile down the road and find yourself on the shores of Derwentwater. There’s much to do here, including sunbathing on the beach, taking a walk around the lake or hiring a rowing boat. The Keswick Launch also runs cruises around the lake that offers a hop-on/hop-off service at various popular spots. Walkers will be spoiled for choice, with England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, 8 miles away, Skiddaw 5 miles and Blencathra 6 miles.

This charming, Victorian cottage is tucked away in a quiet part of Keswick and is comfortably furnished throughout. Take a seat in the living room, pop on the flame-effect fire and enjoy a cosy evening watching a film on the TV. Through to the dining room, there is a second TV and a fantastic warming open fire. There is also a dining table and chairs for you and your guests to have a meal and plan your days together. The kitchen has the usual amenities including a gas cooker, microwave, and fridge/freezer. There’s also a washer/dryer should you need to do some laundry while you’re away. A shower room with WC completes the downstairs. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, all of which are well furnished, comfortable and bright.

Head through the kitchen door into a pretty garden. It is an enclosed space, with a low stone wall with mature shrubs and pretty flowers on the borders. A patio with outdoor garden furniture is ideal for al fresco dining. There is also a lockable shed for the storage of bikes.

Perfectly situated a 2 minute drive into central Keswick. Easy access to the A66 and the A591. A roomy 3 bedroom property, immaculately clean and well equipped with all facilities. A quiet retreat from the hubbub of Keswick yet close enough to walk in if required. Meticulously maintained yet retaining the history and character of the lakes. We've stayed at Primrose Cottage several times and have always been very happy with the accommodation. The redecoration that's taken place in recent years (we last visited some time ago) is very impressive.

Took my dogs and there is a fantastic walk which starts by the side of the Spa shop around 100 meters away. Unfortunately, when we were there it was very icy and -4 most of the time, however, the cottage was warm and the beds very comfortable. It was good to have a smart TV which included Netflix.
