Just 2.5 miles from the heart of Whinlatter Forest Park, spend your days exploring on two feet or two wheels. Follow one of many tracks and trails and keep your eyes peeled for osprey or entertain brave guests with a trip to Go Ape where a treetop challenge, high ropes and zip lines are just a few activities on offer. From Braithwaite, explore the Wainwright Fells on the 9.5-mile-long Coledale Horseshoe loop before rewarding yourself with a tasty meal or a cold pint at a local pub. Just 2.5 miles from Keswick, otherwise known as the Adventure Capital of England, make the short trip for a boat ride on Derwentwater, a night at the movies or for a vast selection of places to grab dinner.

Arrive at this pretty cottage and make yourself at home right away. The open-plan kitchen/diner welcomes you inside with sleek style and all you need to rustle up a feast. With Belfast sink, under-counter fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer, electric oven and gas hob, there is no shortage of handy appliances to help make your stay one to remember. Dine at the table and stay warm by the wood burner as you eat. After dinner, spend time together in the lounge where you can sink into a sofa or a chair in front of a second wood burner. With a TV/DVD and docking station, enjoy nights in this cosy space. Three bedrooms reside on the first floor so after climbing stairs you can rest your head and drift off. A pair of king-size bedrooms are light and tranquil and the third bedroom has adult-sized bunk beds. All beds are made up with sumptuous Egyptian cotton bedding, perfect for a comfortable night’s sleep. Rise and shine and enjoy a luxurious soak in the free-standing, roll-top bath, or freshen up in the shower in the family bathroom with WC.

Take a warming mug of coffee or a chilled tipple outside to the rear patio where you can sit on the furniture and bask in the fresh air. A ramp leads to the enclosed garden and a covered walkway leads to a handy outbuilding with WC. There is ample unrestricted parking on the street.

  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Although the cottage was nice & clean & in a great location, we didnt feel it warranted a 4 star. The ad needs to show the garden border fences are quite low & it wouldnt be suitable for larger dogs. The garden is also not very private. Some of the kitchen cupboard doors werent fitted properly & some of the kickboards were pushed in. We feel it wasRead more a 3 star property. Hide

First time staying at Foresters Cottage although have stayed in Braithwaite many times. No heating on when we arrived about 6.30 pm so it took a while to heat up. Disappointing start to an otherwise enjoyable break. Comfortable and well-equipped cottage in a great location. Lovely garden which would be great in Summer months.

A very well appointed, spacious and comfortable cottage; tastefully decorated and good quality equipment provided. Good sized garden for chucking a ball around for the dog. Lovely cottage, in a great village. Would have appreciated towels to be provided, but that's the only negative. Been here a number of times before, booked for 2 weeks next summer, but now getting pricey at over 2200 for the start of July, so will look at other options

Superb cottage for exploring the Northern Lake District. Braithwaite a lovely quiet village. The cottage is comfortable and had everything we needed.

The property was well equipped with a fabulous enclosed big garden for our two dogs to roam around on whilst eating breakfast outside in the sun ! Good views. It was in a great location for walking days out to the fells and to Whinlatter Forest , which was great in the recent heat for the dogs. Comfy big beds and despite us being two couples we fouRead morend it ok with one bathroom with a clean handy outside loo too . Would reccomend . Third time at foresters love this place . Very clean and comfortable plenty of room for everybody . Love the kitchen all I wanted in there . Great garden frank and Jack loved it . Outside loo great cant praise this place enough and to top it all wall to wall sunshine all week how lucky are we . Thankyou will be back again x
