Enjoy time on Derwentwater, trips to museums and many a delicious bite to eat in the local market town of Keswick. Wander less than half a mile into the heart of town where you can treat little ones to time in the swimming pool, a play in Fitz Park or a morning out at Puzzling Place. If you board a boat at the launch, hop on and off at the lakeside villages which surround Derwentwater and visit spots such as Lodore Falls (3 miles), Catbells (4.5 miles) and Surprise View (3 miles). If you fancy making a splash, hire your own boats and canoes and take to the water. For a short climb that rewards you with panoramic views, walk from your door to Castlerigg Stone Circle (2 miles).

Step up to the porch and head inside for a holiday to remember. Stock the cupboards in the kitchen where you will find a gas Range cooker and a microwave to help you feed guests throughout your stay. The island is a great place to enjoy a cup of tea and offers extra space to prepare meals. Plate up feasts in the dining room where you can enjoy communal meals together. After dinner, settle in the large lounge where there is space for everyone to get comfortable and warm in front of the coal-effect gas fire. Switch on the TV or pluck a book from the shelf and dive in. When it’s time to head to bed, the first of five bedrooms reside on the ground floor. The twin bedroom is spacious and can make good use of the handy ground-floor shower room with WC in the mornings. Upstairs, the rest of the bedrooms await, all of which are spacious and tranquil. The first room has a double bed and single bed, great for families, and also offers an en-suite shower room with WC. The next family room has three single beds, one of which is zip-and-link so can be made up as a super-king-size bed. This large room also features an en-suite shower room with WC. Completing this floor are two twin bedrooms and a family bathroom with WC where you can soak in the roll-top bath or rinse in the shower.

Take your morning tea or coffee outside and enjoy time in the landscaped garden to the front of the cottage. Great for dogs, this space is enclosed so they can stretch their legs safely. You are welcome to pull-up outside the property in order to load and unload your bags. There is free and unlimited parking available on the streets around the property.

What an excellent cottage in an excellent location. Dealing with owners prior to visit was easy and they were very prompt with replies. Instructions were fantastic. Location of accomodation could not be any better, 10 mins walk to centre. The area itself was very quiet and relaxing. Accomodation had all mod cons and was well thought out to house 12Read more people with large pans and 2 kettles, huge fridge and oven. An excellent cottage. Hide

This is a very spacious cottage which is ideally located to enjoy all that Keswick has to offer. The garden is very pretty and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. The rooms and beds are comfortable and it is good to have a bedroom and bathroom downstairs for people who are less mobile. The description is accurate as people are informed to bringRead more their own towels. Parking was available in local streets, but we stayed off season and I expect spaces will be more difficult to find in peak season. Hide

We booked Oak Lodge for a team offsite and it was great accommodation. Just a stones throw (2-3 min walk) into Keswick it was ideal for us location wise. Being near to local walks, fells and bike trails was handy for the activities we had planned.
