Situated at the heart of a quintessential Lakeland village, well placed for exploring the beautiful countryside.
Surrounded by the rugged landscape of the Glenderamackin River Valley with the fells of Blencathra in the distance, this delightful property is the perfect retreat. Build up an appetite venturing along the historic coach road past Clough Head 2 miles away, or strolling into Threlkeld Village 1.5 miles away for a hearty pub lunch or a slab of cake at the charming cafe. The Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum is a short 0.5-mile walk, where you can discover more about the area’s rich mining past and take a ride on the impressive narrow gauge stream train.
Step in through the rear door and leave your muddy coats and shoes in the handy utility area, which features a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Stairs lead upstairs to the main apartment, where you are greeted by the comfortable lounge/diner, a bright and spacious room with sofas, a TV, DVD and a wood burner-effect electric fire. This room has high ceilings, and a traditional fireplace, perfect for enjoying the views from the windows or sipping a glass of wine at the dining table. The kitchen is practical and convenient with an electric cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Two king-size bedrooms complete this floor, both sharing the family bathroom with its shower over the bath and WC. For parties of six guests, you can arrange use of a single bedroom which is tucked up on the second floor. This has an additional pull-out bed. Use of this bedroom must be specially booked. Take care of the steep steps and beware of reduced head height when accessing this room.
There isn’t a dedicated outdoor space, but you are welcome to use the small patio. Adjacent to your accommodation is a stretch of common land ideal for games and younger guests will delight in the shared playground.
