A picturesque cottage that’s been lovingly updated with traditional design and romantic textures, a cheerful space to unwind after long days exploring the heart of the Lake District National Park.

Situated on a quiet country road in the village of Ullock, this property promises peace and serenity with plenty of exciting activities close at hand. Just 3 miles from the brink of the Lake District National Park and 6.5 miles from the Cumbrian coastline, prepare to enjoy walking, biking and hiking routes to take in both seascapes and landscapes. Discover the area’s namesake lakes including Crummock Water and Derwentwater within 15 miles or venture to the nearby town of Keswick (14 miles) to enjoy fascinating museums and plenty of shops and pubs. Closer to home, the town of Cockermouth (5.5 miles) is well-equipped with amenities along with a theatre and cinema for entertainment.

Head inside to find a cheerful space with plenty of bright and airy rooms to enjoy. The heart of the ground floor is its spacious kitchen with an electric hob and cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine along with a sturdy wooden breakfast table for enjoying meals together. Farmhouse-style pinewood cupboards give this room an authentic feel, a style element that’s carried through into the rest of the property. From the kitchen, you’ll have easy access to a handy ground-floor bathroom with WC and bath with handheld shower attachment. Completing the ground floor is a cosy lounge with space for six to unwind. Enjoy SkyTV with DVD or simply engage in conversation around the warm glow of the open fire. When it’s time for bed, head up via a steep staircase to discover two bedrooms on the first floor. The first of these is a king-size master with TV, en-suite with WC and shower, whilst the second bedroom is a similarly spacious double that also has a TV. Hidden away in the eaves of the property is a third and final bedroom. This snug twin room can be accessed via steep cottage-style stairs and has reduced head height and a TV, an ideal bedroom for younger visitors.

Enjoy sole access of a private south-facing garden throughout your stay. Featuring both a lawn and decked area with garden furniture, this enclosed outdoor space is perfect for bright and sunny weather. A locked gate at the bottom of the garden gives way to a small stream running past. We found Apple Tree House to be cosy and comfortable. They supply a lovely welcome hamper with treats for the dog too! This is probably one of the best equipped cottages weve stayed at. It has a great garden for the dog and the area was lovely and quiet on bonfire night, which is what we wanted!
