With a view of the mighty Skiddaw from the house, this bright, warmly decorated and comfortable holiday property provides an ideal backdrop for up to four guests discovering Keswick and Derwentwater.

Keswick is a lively Lakeland town on the shore of the magnificent Derwentwater. Offering a fabulous variety of pubs, cafes, restaurants and independent shops, the town is also home to popular attractions including the Puzzling Place, Keswick Climbing Wall, the Derwent Pencil Museum, Keswick Adventure Centre and the Theatre by the Lake. The town is known as the Adventure Capital of England, and popular activities include water sports, climbing, walking and boating. Several other lakes are within easy reach including Bassenthwaite Lake (5 miles), Crummock Water (10.5 miles), Buttermere (10 miles), Thirlmere (5 miles) and Ullswater (14 miles). To the north are the fells of Blencathra (7 miles) and Skiddaw (5 miles), with Grisedale Pike to the west (5.5 miles).

The hallway from the front door leads you through to the light and tastefully furnished lounge. This is a lovely room to relax in at the end of a great day exploring the Lake District, with plenty of comfortable seating, a TV and DVD and a selection of books. Exploring the cottage further, the kitchen/diner is perfect for enjoying a family meal together and is fully equipped with a dining table, electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and an under-counter fridge with ice compartment. Heading upstairs, the first floor offers two delightful bedrooms – a twin room and a king-size room. There’s also a bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Outside the kitchen, there’s a small, shared patio area, providing a charming spot for a morning coffee – some foldaway chairs are provided. You will have a parking space for one car behind the cottage; this is accessed via St Herbert Street. There’s also roadside parking in the streets around the property.

This is a lovely, cosy cottage. We really enjoyed our stay especially as the centre of Keswick is so close and the car parking space is very useful! We are a family of four with two teenage boys and although it's small it was not a problem. If you have an electric car, there are charging points at the end of the road. The cottage is really well equRead moreipped, and I would highly recommend it. Hide

Lovely house with the big bonus of a car park space. A small but perfectly formed, well equipped house that didn't feel small, even with 2 older teenage boys with us. Easy walk to the lake and town and many good restaurants, pubs, ice cream shops etc. Would book again.

Lovely neat cottage, great location in the old town, a couple of minutes walk to the market, cinema, restaurants and bars not to mention a plethora of walks from the doorstep. Fab place to stay.

Very clean tidy and comfortable beds , good job there was a parking space at the rear as there was nothing available at the front due to the amount of cars already parked up

The cottage was perfect , spotlessly clean with everything I could possibly need and with the added bonus of its own parking spot. The location is convenient for the centre of Keswick, walks straight from the front door and close to bus routes to other parts of the Lakes. It was my fourth visit so feels home from home. I shall be back!

A lovely cottage. Clean and comfortable. It has everything you need for a short break. The private parking space was a bonus. Location was great. 5 minute walk from the centre of Keswick. I definitely recommend Tethera Hovera and will visit again.

A neat and tidy cottage 2 minutes from the centre of Keswick. Beautiful scenery, including slate housing all around and the bonus of off street parking.

Very well situated cottage but small for 4 people regarding living space. No outside space except parking (which is extremely useful in the heart of Keswick so definite plus!). Probably wouldn't recommend to families altho' ok for adults who spend most of time elsewhere (on the hills, sightseeing or down in town).

We had an excellent holiday, walking and swimming every day and 38 Erskin Street was so comfortable and well situated in Keswick that we hope to book it again next year. Clean, comfortable and well equipped and having our own parking space was fantastic.

Our second visit to this property and every bit as good as the first. Owner now supplies towels which although not advertised doesn't leave much else to be supplied. Pleased to report that milk jug no longer dribbles (see review Sept. 2021). Can thoroughly recommend.
