A beautifully renovated holiday home for four, set in colourful Keswick, perfect for lakeside walks, fell climbing and water sports, as well as other outdoor activities.

Enjoy the best of all worlds at this delightful holiday home, set within a building dating back to the 1860s. The two-bedroom property sleeps four guests in two bedrooms and is in a great location for accessing vibrant Keswick, as well as the northern swathe of the Lake District. Enjoy shopping in independent outlets and dining out in great pubs and restaurants. Visit museums, take a brewery tour, go to the cinema or watch a play at the Theatre by the Lake. Head down to the shore, less than 1 mile from the cottage, to go out on a launch or to hire a boat. Follow the 10-mile path all the way around the lake to take in the impressive scenery on foot.

Make your way into this charming, reverse-level house via an entrance hall where you can hang your jackets and leave your wellies. Find a washing machine and tumble dryer in a cupboard down here too. Both of the elegant king-size bedrooms are also on this level, each with a TV: one of these has an en-suite bathroom, with a shower over the bath and WC. The other bedroom has access to the family shower room with WC. Climb the open stairs up to the open-plan kitchen/diner, with its vaulted and beamed ceiling and wooden floor. It has been equipped with an electric double oven and plate warmer, gas hobs and microwave with combi oven. It also has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and coffee pod machine. A outdoor staircase from here leads to the rear of the house and parking. After dinner, wander through to the lounge to enjoy the wood burner. Settle on the sofas, switch on the Smart TV with Freeview and other apps including Netflix or choose a DVD to watch on the Blu-ray player with a selection of discs.

Take a cup of fresh coffee and a book from the shelf out into the enclosed garden to enjoy on sunny days whilst absorbing the far-reaching views. There is lockable shed for storing your bicycles and other outside gear in. There is also parking for one car at the property.

This is the second time we have stayed in this property and we would certainly stay again. The cottage is one of the cleanest we have stayed in all credit to the cleaner. It is also very well equiped in the kitchen unlike alot of holiday cottages. We enjoy cooking when we are on holiday and few holiday homes have good cooking untensils. Excellent cottage, close to town/shops and eateries. Kitchen was a dream to cook in and log burner really helped to provide a cosy resting place after a day out walking and exploring. If youre planning to stay a week, invest in the 7 day river bus pass. Its cheaper and you can hop on and off around the lake to undertake different walks. Superb cottage in every way. The owners put the in a lot of care and attention to detail and we note from the visitors book that many people (including us) make repeat visits. The only thing to be aware of is that the parking is somewhat tight but we managed fine.

What a wonderful cottage. Every detail thought through right down to a lovely bike shed complete with a stirrup pump to inflate the tyres! So clean and beautiful and the location couldnt be better for access to town, bypass out and hill walks - thanks so much

Absolutely lovely cottage. Really comfortable and well funished. Very convenient for getting in and out of Keswick with the advantage of good parking. We would definitely stay here again next time we're in Keswick.

A fabulous cottage - our third stay at The Stables. A perfect location to visit Keswick and the surrounding area even without having to use the car as it is so well located close to the Town Centre and several bus routes. Cottage always superbly presented

The cottage was nice, parking would be difficult if all 3 spaces were occupied. The beds were comfortable, the showers good and the kitchen had good equipment. We couldnt work out to use the grill in the oven. We didnt appreciate being instructed to remove the bed linen and towels for all crockery and cutlery washed and put away before we leave. WeRead more remove the bed linen and towels etc, but that is a matter of courtesy on our part and it is usual to load the dishwasher and leave running Hide

A lovely property, very peaceful and relaxing. We loved lying in bed listening to the birds singing each morning.
