Just a mile from the bustling market town of Keswick, this charming and characterful end-of-terrace cottage provides warm and cosy family holiday accommodation within easy reach of two stunning lakes.

The cottage lies on the edge of the pretty hamlet of Millbeck, in the shadow of the magnificent Skiddaw mountain (4 miles). Keswick (2.5 miles) is the Adventure Capital of the Lake District and has a fabulous range of pubs, shops, restaurants, a cinema and a theatre by the lake, as well as attractions including the Derwent Pencil Museum, Puzzling Place, the Kong Adventure Centre and the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Local activities include kayaking, rock climbing, ghyll scrambling, canoeing, fishing, mountain biking and fell-walking. As well as the magnificent Bassenthwaite Lake (4 miles) and the majestic Derwentwater (2.5 miles), you can explore Whinlatter Forest Park (6 miles), Mirehouse and Gardens (2.5 miles) and the Lake District Wildlife Park (6.5 miles).

Stepping into this refreshing and airy cottage, the welcoming kitchen/diner provides a fantastic space for you to gather, chat and share a favourite family meal. The country-style kitchen features stone floor tiles, an alcove dining area and a range of equipment including a fridge/freezer, double oven with hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The cosy lounge is a wonderful space for everyone to relax in, with two beautiful sash windows overlooking the garden, plenty of comfortable seating, TV, DVD player and a wood burner. A staircase leads from the kitchen to the first floor where you will find a delightful room which can serve as a parlour or children’s playroom and has a TV, a selection of games and a day bed. The first of the cottage’s three restful bedrooms is on this floor: a charming and relaxing king-size room. This floor also has a large bathroom complete with shower over the bath and a WC. The final bedrooms are on the second floor: there’s an attractive triple room with a single bed and a set of bunk beds, with a window overlooking the beck as it tumbles past; and a light, elegant master bedroom with king-size sleigh bed, dressing table, built-in wardrobes and a stylish en-suite shower room complete with shower and WC.

Going outside, the pretty garden features a choice of outdoor furniture and makes an idyllic spot for you to sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy the glorious views and the sound of the stream trickling down the hill.

This is a comfortable well equipped cottage, although has a lot of stairs! It is in a tucked away position but has beautiful views and not too far from Keswick.

Nice and cozy cottage. Comfortable beds which is always a massive plus. Very well equipped kitchen. Close to Keswick but still felt out of the way. We walked Siddaw and other fells right from the door which is lovely. If the sound of a river outside your bedroom window keeps you awake take ear pugs. However we loved it.

Great location at the foot of Skiddaw ,pleasant walk to Keswick or 5 minute drive . Great to have nice outside space , sheep at the bottom of the garden too .

What a perfectly located house, beautiful situated. The house itself has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It is situated perfectly for local walks and only a few minutes from Keswick. The local pubs serve great food and everyone was so friendly. Loved our week there and cant wait to go back

Lovely comfortable cottage in a super location. There were some problems which Im sure will be quickly sorted. The cleaning wasnt as we wouldve hoped and the en-suite shower wasnt working. We reported it, but heard no more, so couldnt use it. Hopefully it will be fixed for the next tenants.

Beautiful and comfy cottage with lots of space in it (we were 3 adults and 3 children). Really well placed for exploring the lakes. Playroom is brill for games and extra space for the kids. The garden is straight out back of the living room which was brilliant for the dog and kids to play in safe space. Ideal base for northern lakes. Cottage had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, cute little garden, parking. Water pressure not fab (cant use both showers simultaneously), but otherwise no complaints!

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location. We stayed with our two teenage boys and the cottage worked out really well for us. A well equipped cottage, very comfortable and well furnished. The location makes this a very special place with easy access to Skiddaw, Catbells and Grizedale as well as the bright lights of Keswick. The walking is truly outRead morestanding and being able to relax at the end of a long day fell walking in the garden was just blissful, can't wait to come back! Hide
