Located in Keswick, at the northern end of the Lake District National Park, this property is brimming with history, having served as a shop, a Boy Scout hut, and a Quaker meeting house in its former life. It now offers guests the opportunity to explore nearby beauty spots and market towns. Keswick itself is a bustling town and a popular base for visitors, with plenty of cultural and adventure activities on offer. It sits on the shores of Derwentwater and is close to the lakes of Thirlmere and Bassenthwaite. Borrowdale Valley is nearby, boasting a variety of mountain walks, including Catbells, Coledale Horseshoe, Skiddaw and Blencathra – each varying in height and length, but all with magnificent views. Sitting just above Keswick is Castlerigg Stone Circle, an atmospheric location perfect for an early morning or evening walk. Or, for something more adrenaline-filled, head to Whinlatter Forest.

On entering the property, you’ll find yourself in the light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Clean and contemporary, this is a comfortable place to snuggle up for an evening, with the large sofa providing ample space for everyone to relax. A breakfast bar separates the lounge from the kitchen and offers a modern dining space. The kitchen is contemporary and has a good amount of surface space for preparing meals. Neutral tones and spotlights make it bright and welcoming throughout. Heading up the staircase, there are two bedrooms on the first floor: a double and a single. Both rooms are immaculately presented with contemporary cottage furniture and views across the rooftops or the streets below. The good-sized family bathroom has a shower over the bath.

what a lovely little find, perfect for a couple or young family. perfectly proportioned and quite near to the centre of town. The beds were comfortable, with sheets and towels of top quality. The bath is not the longest but enough to comfort weary legs and the shower is amazing. the smoke alarm was a little over sensitive but if the fan is on and tRead morehe kitchen window open a little, that sorts it. Would highly recommend this property, spotlessly clean with a nice little welcome pack. Ideally located, just a short walk into town, If you are there for the walks it is directly on the route to Derwent Water or Walla Cragg, The only issue I would raise is parking. I did eventually get a space outside but it meant that we didnt drive out anywhere Read moreas parking was so limited. Instead we got the X4 to Dodds Wood which offers 4 different walks. Hide

Lovely, cosy, comfortable cottage! Very clean and well equipped. Beds are comfortable and linen and towels feel very luxurious. Parking available outside or on nearby roads so we always found somewhere to park even at Easter weekend. A brilliantly situated, super clean cottage just a 5 minute walk from Keswick town which is full of lovely pubs. Endless walks not far from Keswick that we got to explore and come back to a cottage that had covered all basis including trays for muddy boots and aiders for soggy clothes. Lovely little cottage, perfect for my family of 3. Very central. Had all the equipment we needed. Comfortable beds, bedrooms had TV's too which is a rare find. Nice clean bathroom. The owner had popped round before our arrival when there was an issue with the water, left a note to let us know and filled the kettle in preparation. Lovely welcome pacRead morek too. We stayed in the cottage for a long weekend March 2023. The owners were wonderful and offered us anytime arrival due to bad weather and they had heating on in cottage when we arrived, so thoughtful. It was lovely and clean, well equipped and central. We would book again.
