Contemporary family home just a short walk from the village of Braithewaite and the bustling Keswick, a delightful base for exploring the very best that the Lake District has to offer.

Benefiting from the perfect position to truly unwind in the Lake District National Park, discover some of the area’s most sought after attractions just a short journey from home. Nearby lies the Whinlatter Forest Park (2.5 miles) with its seemingly endless selection of hiking and cycling routes, as well as relaxing footpaths and the thrilling Go Ape! park. Set off from your doorstep to summit the Lakeland fells of Barrow (1.5 miles) or Grisedale Pike (3 miles), or take a trip to the fascinating Castlerigg Stone Circle (4.5 miles) which is just past the town of Keswick (2.5 miles).

Thoroughly bright and cheerful, this charming country cottage features contemporary decor and a true home-from-home feel. Step inside and find coat hooks and shoe racks for storing all of your walking gear before sinking into a cushy sofa in the lounge. The lounge, which doubles up as a dining room with a circular dining table, is the perfect spot for unwinding come the evening. Throw some logs onto the stylish logburner and make use of the TV/DVD for some well-deserved down time. A family kitchen has been equipped with an under-counter fridge with a freezer compartment, electric oven and hob, microwave and washing machine, along with a handy breakfast table for morning snacks. Completing the ground floor is a family bathroom with WC and shower. When it’s time for bed, three pretty bedrooms await you on the first floor. All three of these bedrooms benefit from far-reaching fell views from their windows, ensuring everyone wakes up rip-roaring and ready to explore come the morning. The master bedroom and twin bedroom both offer a place for two to sleep, whilst the cosy single bedroom completes the property.

Outside, a generous and mature, sloping lawn ensures you’ve more than enough space to soak up the fresh Cumbrian air when the weather is bright. Here you’ll find a patio space with garden furniture and a covered bike store for protecting your cycle from the elements. Although technically enclosed, small gaps in the fence and hedges mean that you’ll need to keep a close eye on your dog whilst unwinding outdoors. There is private off road parking for up to three cars outside the house on a driveway.

This is a very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and good size house . There is plenty of kitchen equipment plus salt and pepper and other things which might be useful. Great little cottage in a good location. Comfortable and ideal for two and a dog. The log burner is brilliant on cold November evenings. This was our second visit and we shall return again.

This is an extremely comfortable cottage, that is very well equipped and a home from home. A welcoming, cosy place to return to after a day walking on the Fells. This is a really lovely small house in a great location. The village has several excellent pubs, so only an amble home. The village is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, sorry fells and many interesting places are within easy driving distances. We enjoyed our stay at Aquarius very much. Thank you.

Lovely cottage in a great location with views over the fells. We were fortunate to have amazing weather, we would have been a bit cramped as a group of 5 if not but this was pointed out to us on booking. Walks from the door if you want to leave the car and Keswick only a short drive.
