Stroll 2 miles above the bustling town of Keswick to Castlerigg Stone Circle to stretch your legs and take in amazing views. Slightly further afield, Catbells (5 miles) is a moderate climb rewarded with more panoramic views. Explore Derwentwater by boarding a cruise from the local marina or hire your own boats or paddleboards and make a splash. If the rain interrupts your stay, Keswick has an interesting pair of museums, climbing wall and a cinema to keep you entertained. For a wonderful night out, leave the car behind and book a table at an eatery in town before watching a show at the Theatre by the Lake (less than half a mile from this retreat).

Climb the external staircase to reach this first-floor apartment. Greeted by the open-plan living space, admire the characterful, exposed beams and stylish decor before settling down on the inviting sofa. Light the wood burner and watch your favourite programme on the Smart TV and enjoy a relaxing evening. Delve into one of the books for some peace and quiet and plan your next adventure. The kitchen area is equipped with a double electric oven, a slimline dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. The spacious king-size bedroom has an ornamental fireplace and boasts views across to Catbells. There is also a shower room with WC.

Sip your morning coffee alfresco or enjoy meals on the roof terrace which has outdoor furniture, please take care and do not go near the edge. There is designated parking for one car which is accessed via an archway.

We were very happy with our stay at Wainwright's Loft. It is in the centre of Keswick and benefits from a dedicated car park space. It is comfortable, very clean and well equipped. Alan and Heather are great hosts. We enjoyed sitting on the roof terrace as the weather was perfect when we were there but its equally comfortable inside if the LakelandRead more weather is less kind. Hide

We have used numerous properties in Keswick and surrounding area and wainwrights loft is by far the best and we hope to return later in the year The hosts Heather and Alan were very helpful and friendly

Wainwright's Loft was perfect for us and met our every need. The flat was spotlessly clean and very warm and comfortable. The dedicated off street parking space was a bonus in a town where parking is at a premium. Ideally situated to enable the towns pubs and eating places to be reached on foot we would certainly recommend Wainwright's Loft and wilRead morel return in the future. This Loft is in a perfect location, right in the heart of Keswick. Its an ideal base for walkers. Its cosy and comfortable and you have the added advantage of a parking space which is a real plus. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

A very comfortable apartment, very well kitted out for a couple visiting that part of the Lake District. Situated right in the centre of town so handy for shops but still quiet. Friendly supportive owner living close by. Plenty of useful books etc in the property.

Stayed here for a week, a really nice apartment, clean, tidy and very comfortable. Central to Keswick and a bonus to have off street parking. I will recommend Wainwrights loft to anyone and I will be staying here again in the future..

We had the most wonderful break here. The cottage is so cozy and comfortable with a lot of original features as well as all mod cons with the added bonus of a car parking space which is quite a bonus for somewhere right in the centre of Keswick.
