Fantastic stay at Larch Cottage. Very clean and well appointed throughout. Comfortable lounge and small kitchen. Beautiful views from the courtyard seating area. Lovely walks directly from the cottage. All in a very pleasant stay. No problem with parking 50 yards up road. Please note the freezer area in the fridge is tiny.

So special to be able to take my girls to Larch Cottage after spending many summers there as a child in the 90s! A gorgeously cosy cottage in a stunning location and exactly how I remembered it. Comfortable beds, an excellently equipped kitchen and a beautiful patio. We especially loved getting fresh eggs from Nook Farm every morning. Lovely location with walks from the door. Very well equipped cosy cottage. Before we went I was a little concerned about the parking but was never an issue using the recommended layby.

A cosy and comfortable base in a beautiful and quiet location, with lots of great walking on the doorstep. Tea room round the corner, pub not far away. Forget the car, use the wonderful local 78 bus and explore Borrowdale!

Lovely cosy little cottage in the valley, a real home from home. So nice that it's not decorated and furnished like a chain hotel. There's everything you could need in the best equipped kitchen i have seen in holiday accommodation. The open fire was very much appreciated after a damp day outside. Amazing views out of the windows. And the little garRead moreden is a great place for a rest and watch the changing light on the fells. Hide

Location is superb, with great walks from the doorstep. Small traditional holiday cottage, perfect for two of us, but would be a bit cramped for 4 adults.

Great location, right in the middle of the gorgeous Lakeland landscapes. The kitchen was a big plus! We were very much impressed by the daily goings-on on Nook farm (around the corner). Do try the bus which Read morestops on the Borrowdale road for the round trip. A beautiful traditional Lakeland cottage in a spectacular location. Walks straight from the door. The kitchen is very well equipped and beds lovely and comfortable. Furniture in lounge a little dated. The cottage could have been cleaner. The Riverside bar at The Scafell Hotel has friendly staff and serves good food from 6-9. Would stay here again.

The cottage was lovely and the location simply stunning. It is a well furnished, comfortable cottage and served our needs. The kitchen was very well equipped for a holiday cottage, probably the best I have had. We really enjoyed our stay - the cottage is basic and maybe slightly in need of updating, but it had everything we needed and, in any case, the weather was so lovely we didn't spend that much time inside! The location is excellent and we enjoyed doing various fell walks from the cottage, as well as sampling the ice cream at the local tea room. TherRead moree's a pub only a few minutes' walk away, too. It's worth being aware that there are no shops nearby, so bring everything you need with you if you can! Hide
