Location is superb, with great walks from the doorstep. Small traditional holiday cottage, perfect for two of us, but would be a bit cramped for 4 adults.

Great location, right in the middle of the gorgeous Lakeland landscapes. The kitchen was a big plus! For your shopping, drive to Booths in Keswick but do visit the Flock Inn around the corner for friendly staff and delicious regional products. We were very much impressed by the daily goings-on on Nook farm (around the corner). Do try the bus which Read morestops on the Borrowdale road for the round trip. The cottage could do with some maintenance but we would definitely come back here. Hide

A beautiful traditional Lakeland cottage in a spectacular location. Walks straight from the door. The kitchen is very well equipped and beds lovely and comfortable. Furniture in lounge a little dated. The cottage could have been cleaner. The Riverside bar at The Scafell Hotel has friendly staff and serves good food from 6-9. Would stay here again.

The cottage had all the basic requirements, it is small & cosy for 4 guests but the location is superb for hikes, walks & local bus servicing the Borrowdale valley from Keswick to Buttermere. 2 good local pubs/hotels serving food.

The cottage was lovely and the location simply stunning. It is a well furnished, comfortable cottage and served our needs. The kitchen was very well equipped for a holiday cottage, probably the best I have had. The only small negatives were that the bathroom sink was not well cleaned and the drawers were dusty as well as the window ledges. We really enjoyed our stay - the cottage is basic and maybe slightly in need of updating, but it had everything we needed and, in any case, the weather was so lovely we didn't spend that much time inside! The location is excellent and we enjoyed doing various fell walks from the cottage, as well as sampling the ice cream at the local tea room. TherRead moree's a pub only a few minutes' walk away, too. It's worth being aware that there are no shops nearby, so bring everything you need with you if you can! Hide

We had a disappointing week here, and found the cottage to be quite cramped. Four people would struggle for space. Given that it was October we were cold in the living room because all the heat disappears up the stairs and through the single glazed doors and windows. Probably ok in the summer.
