A great abode for getting away with family and friends, this home sits in an enviable location close the heart of Keswick. End your day with a drink in the yard to relax and unwind.

Brilliantly positioned for enjoying dining out, this home is less than half a mile from the centre of town. Wander down to the shore and hire boats to make a splash, or board a cruise for a more leisurely experience. Hop on and off to explore the sights which surround Derwentwater such as Lodore Falls (3.5 miles by road), Catbells (4.5 miles) and Surprise View (3.5 miles). If you fancy staying dry and stretching your legs, wander high above Keswick to Castlerigg Stone Circle (2 miles) for panoramic views. Treat family and friends to a movie night at the local cinema or book tickets for a show at Theatre by the Lake (less than a mile).

Step through the garden, through the front door and into the porch where you can hang coats and leave boots behind. Another door leads to the hallway from which you will find the open-plan living space. First is the dining area where you can enjoy meals together. The stylish kitchen has a full-height fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, four-slice toaster, eye-level double oven/grill and a smart four-ring electric hob. Sliding doors lead from the kitchen to the handy utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer. After dinner, relax in the lounge area which is accessed via an open arch from the dining space. The bay window lets lots of natural light in and the wood burner promises to keep you warm. Settle on a sofa or a chair and switch off in front of the Smart TV for a relaxing night in. There is an SNES classic video games console to keep younger guests entertained, however, you must provide your own games, or you could get competitive over a board game. After dinner and some quality time together, head to bed on the first and second floors. Climb stairs and reach the half landing where you can freshen up in the family bathroom with a bath and a shower. There is a separate WC. A second family bathroom with free-standing bath, walk-in shower and WC can be found up a few more steps. This room is beautifully designed and has a contemporary, luxurious feel. Next, there is a super-king-size bedroom with a large sofa and plenty of storage. The remaining two bedrooms are on the second floor and are accessed by ascending more stairs. The first room is a twin bedroom with quirky sloping ceiling and panoramic views, the second is a cosy double bedroom also with sloping ceilings and far-reaching views.

Take a morning tea or coffee outside to the enclosed yard, located just off the kitchen. A handy shed is available to use as bike storage should you fancy adventuring on two wheels. There is unallocated on-street parking.

Perfect location, 5 minute walk to town. Size wise house is great, just a bit tired. Very old furniture in bedrooms but beds were super comfy. Sofas in living room were extremely uncomfortable and table and chairs different to ones shown in brochure and very old, one chair was falling apart. Equipment wise didn't feel there was anything we needed. Read moreTV got all the channels and could get netflix etc. Floor was mucky, recommend slippers. Back yard a bit mucky, tired. Would go again tho. Hide

Great location, easy walk into town . Was great being able to park on the road outside, we had three cars and had no problems finding spaces on the street outside over the seven days we were there. Bathrooms were great and good water pressure for the showers. Washer and dryer useful for muddy walking clothes in the Lake District weather! Would recoRead moremmend. Hide

We really liked this house. The bathrooms were both fantastic. The position is within easy walking distance of the town centre, with a Spar shop even closer. We found the kitchen utensils, serving dishes and chopping boards etc. rather limited for self-catering but the dishwasher/washing machine and dryer were perfectly fine. Very comfortable beds

We loved this cottage! Everything about it was perfect for our holiday. The location is ideal - close to the town centre for a nice stroll, easy access to all the hikes and a great children's park on the doorstep. Even though parking isn't included we never had an issue parking close to the cottage.

We had a fantastic stay in Wainwright House. The house had all the basics we needed for a comfortable stay over the summer. We will certainly be back, and have recommended it to our friends.

A fabulous cottage in a great location. Spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything needed. Incredibly comfy beds and beautifully fitted bathrooms. A very secure backyard for our active Spaniel. Loved sitting on the bench in the morning with a cuppa, sunny and peaceful. A couple of minutes walk from the park, our Spaniel loved a swim in the Read moreriver in the morning, which was very low and slow at the time. No major issues with parking, despite what we had read from other reviews. Hide
