Explore the fells you can spy from your window and head out for a climb. Lace up your boots and make the 8-mile trip to the Helvellyn range or start the Coledale Horseshoe walk 3 miles away in Braithwaite. A 9.5-mile loop, the Coledale Horseshoe is a wonderful walk that winds its way over the Wainwright Fells and more. For a more leisurely day, hop on a cruise of Derwentwater (1.5 miles) where you can do a lap of the lake or hop on and off to adventure your way around the lakeside towns and villages. Treat yourselves to a night off from the kitchen and book a table at one of many lovely pubs in Keswick before enjoying a film at the cinema or a show at the Theatre by the Lake, both within a mile from your door.

Stepping inside your home from home, hang up your coat and leave your shoes on the rack. Creating an inviting hub of the house where you can enjoy sociable times before and after days in the great outdoors is the open-plan living space. Here, the lounge and diner fit together and are warmed by a wood burner that promises to keep the chill at bay. Sofas and chairs fit perfectly around the wood burner, Smart TV/DVD and the coffee table which you can pile high with treats and a board game. Filled with natural light and contemporary style it’s a great place to spend time. Before serving up at the dining table, designate your chef and cook up a storm in the sleek, light kitchen. Filled with handy appliances, you should find all the space and all you need to rustle up delicious feasts from morning ‘til night. Stored in a cupboard by the dining table are a host of useful things. On the first floor, a twin bedroom and a king-sized bedroom are spacious and tranquil places to rest your head after long days. With a family shower room with WC and bathroom with shower over the bath and WC on this floor, freshen up with ease in the morning with a soak in the tub or a refreshing rinse. Residing up a further set of stairs on the second floor is another kind sized bedroom, with a sloping ceiling and Smart TV.

Great for warm days and a lovely spot in which to enjoy your morning coffee and evening tipples, the enclosed yard can be found via the kitchen or through the back gate. A pair of tables invite you to sit with snacks and bask in the fresh air. If you’re enjoying an adventurous holiday and bringing bikes and kayaks with you, store them here but bring a lock with you to secure them. There is roadside parking.

We absolutely loved this place for a family Christmas: parents and 5 teens. Comfortable, well equipped, stylish and close to lovely walks and shops / restaurants in Keswick. Would highly recommend and would book to stay here again without hesitation. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

This is a comfortable, well equipped house in quiet location, but within walking distance of buses and the middle of town.

Fabulous house with four comfortable bedrooms accommodating 8 people in total. Two bathrooms -one is a shower room. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you need. Lounge / dining area was comfortable but 8 people might have found it a little cramped - we were four men. Heating and hot water available on demand. Centrally located in KeswicRead morek - about 5 minutes walk from the main square, restaurants and bars. Would highly recommend. Hide

We had an excellent stay here and had all the facilities we needed. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We discovered a problem with security as the key holder would open to any code but a new box was installed and the problem was quickly resolved.

If the faults we experienced were to be put right, this would be a lovely property. Perfect setting, comfy beds and tastefully decorated.

Lovely clean house in a great location. Issues with lack of hot water, heating, and faulty oven on arrival, however these were promptly rectified the following day (on a weekend). Fantastic week with family, great space for relaxed social time.

A really lovely house in a quiet part of Keswick, but only 5 mins walk into town. The house is a great base to explore the area. As others have mentioned, although it sleeps 8, the lounge and dining table would be tight for more than 6. We were 4 though, so it was perfect! The bedrooms are a good size, particularly the doubles, with good bath and sRead morehower, and the kitchen is great. The double bedroom on the top floor does get hot in warm weather, so come prepared. A great place! Hide

This is a lovely cottage in a great location. We are a family of two adults and three teenagers. They all enjoyed having their own room. Its walking distance to Keswick and can be the starting point for lots of walks eg castlerigg, walla cragg. I would happily return
