Local activities include rock climbing, hiking, and ghyll scrambling. At Whinlatter Forest Park (4.5 miles) you can hire mountain bikes and go exploring, or you can take a cruise from Keswick across Derwentwater, with stops at Ashness Gate, Lodore and Hawes End. Walkers can attempt Latrigg, Catbells, Skiddaw or Causey Pike (all within 6 miles).
