We had an amazing week while staying at the escape, it is in a great location being within walking distance to Keswick and Derwentwater. It was a great cottage to come back to after a day of hiking and the bed was super comfy. There was also a bottle of Prosecco which was a nice touch.

A really nice cottage in a beautiful village. There is a great cafe and pub in the village which we would highly recommend. Some fantastic walks on the doorstop, dont even need to use your car to get to them. Would highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our stay. The property is very central, Keswick is less than a 20 minute walk away. Wine was left, which was a nice touch. Lots of activities to do in the cottage in the evening. Lots of walks central to the cottage which you don't have to drive to. Only downfall is the bathroom is downstairs, so not brilliant if you need the toilet Read morein the night, and there was no extractor fan in the kitchen or bathroom, but these were only minor inconvenience. Would definitely stay here again! Hide

We chose this cottage on the basis of not wanting to spend too much as we only really needed a place to sleep. It met that requirement well enough. We thought it basic and some of the features were not really to our taste, although we appreciate others may like them. This included the ground floor which felt cold and a little gloomy to us, partly wRead moree think because of the slate stone floor. Easy and pleasant walk into Keswick from the cottage. Hide

This cottage is the ultimate switch off and relax experience. Unplugged. Very cute cottage fully equipped with everything you would need. Perfectly located for Keswick, Lingholm, Braithwaite etc. Great pub in the village as well. If you don't like tranquility, this is probably not the place for you. For us it was spot on. Nice bottle of wine and caRead morerd too. Hide

As above, old fashioned property more of a 2 star, poor cleanliness, uncomfortable furniture, poor quality bedding, only one bath and one hand towel per guest. Locator is lovely
