The Lakeland stone cottage is perfectly placed to enjoy the best of both worlds. The town centre of Keswick is just 500 metres away, where you’ll find independent shops, cafes, an Art Deco cinema and popular open-air market. Yet, you’ll also be within easy reach of some fabulous walks, in the surrounding fells and along the shores of Derwentwater. Head to nearby Catbells (4.5 miles) for a gentle climb with spectacular views or challenge yourself with a hike up Skiddaw (4.5 miles). A ride on the launches of Derwentwater is a must during your stay. Glide across the lake, hopping off to enjoy a waterfall walk, spot of afternoon tea or to visit the walled garden that inspired Beatrix Potter.
A flight of stone steps leads to the front door of this terraced cottage. Inside, discover a light and bright lounge, thanks to the large bay window framing distant mountain views. Relax on one of the comfortable chairs or sofa in front of the smart TV or curl up with a book from the collection. The stylish kitchen/diner houses a gorgeous glass dining table as well as an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. From here, access the utility room, where you’ll find a washing machine/dryer and sink, as well as handy storage for coats and boots. Beyond the utility room is the modern family bathroom, with a shower over the bath and a WC. Take the stairs to the first floor, where two of the three bedrooms are located. The first is a single with a three-quarter-size bed (which could also be used as a small double) and lovely views out over the garden. The second is a spacious king-size, again with beautiful views and also an en-suite shower room with a WC. Cottage-style stairs lead to the final bedroom, located in the eaves. This is a twin bedroom and has wonderful views towards Skiddaw.
Outside, there’s a charming garden to the rear of the cottage, accessed via a few steps. The garden has a patio and enjoys an elevated position, with views of Latrigg and Skiddaw. There’s a bench and table to enjoy some al fresco dining whilst admiring the magnificent surroundings. The garden is not enclosed so dogs should remain on a lead, but there is a dog-friendly park immediately opposite! Roadside parking is available directly outside the property.
