Escape to the magical Lake District where Ambleside is a top destination from which to explore. Lace up your walking boots and head straight from your door to the local fell of Loughrigg (2.5 miles), where your ascent is rewarded with spectacular views. Stay closer to home and make the 1-mile trip to the majestic Stock Ghyll Force waterfall, passing the quaint Bridge House in town which is owned by the National Trust and is renowned for being the most-photographed building in the Lake District. Spend a family-friendly day on the water and cruise between Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside. After days exploring, treat yourselves to a meal out in Ambleside and a drink at the jazz bar.

Arrive at this humble abode and step inside to the welcoming lounge with Smart TV. Find a spot on the sofa and get cosy in front of the wood burner-effect electric fire as you indulge in a good book or your favourite TV programme. Boasting stunning views to Fairfield Horseshoe, this room is a lovely place in which to spend quality time together. The spacious and bright kitchen/diner has an electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a handy freezer in the under stairs cupboard. On the first floor you will find the bedrooms, one is a king-size and the other is a super-king-size (which can be made up as a twin on request). There is an en-suite shower room with WC to the king-size bedroom, in addition to a contemporary shower room with WC which also resides on this floor.

Wonderful cottage. Very comfortable and cosy at this time of the year. Great location and easy access to restaurants, bars and shops. Short walk to the pier to grab a boat to Bowness. Lots of great walks from the cottage. We did not use the car until Thursday (we arrived on Saturday!!)

Very conveniently situated close to the town centre yet very quiet. Parking is also quite a bonus. The cottage is spacious and very well presented. This was our second stay there and we will be happy to book for it again.

Great location for easy 2 min walk into ambleside, and many walks into countryside straight from the door. Spacious, warm, well equipped comfortable cottage.

Property was warm, well equipped and in an excellent location, only a few minutes walk from the town centre. There was an issue with cleanliness, which was resolved by Holiday Cottages in a helpful and constructive way. The parking space is a bonus.

Very convenient location for the town, yet very quiet, and having its own parking a bonus. Beautifully equipped with good quality furniture and appliances and we will certainly return to it another year. The stairs are quite steep so might be difficult for someone with mobility issues.

We have stayed at Ecclerigg Cottage in 2 consecutive years. The location is brilliant, the parking space is a real bonus and the cottage itself is spacious, cosy and very well-maintained. We love the place :-)!!

The property is ideally located with a free parking space, which is useful for exploring shops / pubs in Ambleside and also for walking to the pier head on Windermere to catch the boats to other destinations. The local bus service stops not far from the entrance. Everything needed for a comforatable stay is included and it's very quiet - we were suRead morerprised we couldn't hear more traffic noise, but the arrangement in the courtyard seems to cocoon us from that. The cottage is in a great location situated between the centre of Ambleside and Waterhead at the edge of Windemere. Well equipped with all that we needed for a week in the Lakes, easy access to the lake and the surrounding fells with plenty of stunning views. Ideal as a location for walking, climbing, cycling or sailing. Fantastic!

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at Ecclerigg Cottage. It was spotlessly clean and the beds were very spacious and comfortable. A short walk to the pubs, shops and bus station plus the parking space was a bonus. What more can you ask for. We shall definitely be back.

The property was much bigger than we expected. It was clean, warm and had everything we needed. Its location was great just a short walk to the local park (which our children loved), local bars, restaurants and shops.
