The picturesque village of Braithwaite makes a great base for exploring the heart of the Lake District, with both the Whinlatter Pass and Newlands Pass nearby. Surrounded by the mountains of the Coledale Horseshoe, the village is set between Bassenthwaite Lake (2.5 miles) and Derwentwater (2 miles), with Buttermere and Crummock Water within easy reach (both within 8 miles). Nearby is the lively market town of Keswick (2.5 miles) where you will find plenty of great restaurants and pubs, as well as the Derwent Pencil Museum, Castlerigg Stone Circle, Alhambra Cinema, the Theatre by the Lake, Puzzling Place and Keswick Adventure Centre. Also nearby are the Bowder Stone (7.5 miles), Lodore Falls (6 miles) and Honister Slate Mine (11.5 miles).
This lovely, traditional cottage features a beautiful lounge which makes a great space to relax in at the end of a wonderful day. This room retains plenty of original features including exposed ceiling beams and brickwork, and a warming open fire set in a stunning inglenook. There’s also plenty of comfortable seating, a Smart TV and mini Hi-Fi, making this a perfect space to snuggle up with a book or a favourite movie. Three shallow steps lead up to the attractive dining room where you can gather together to enjoy a family meal. The ground floor also offers a fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Heading upstairs, there are three light and peaceful bedrooms, all decorated in tasteful soothing shades. The master bedroom features a double bed, plenty of storage and a beautiful feature fireplace. The second bedroom is also a double, with original exposed wall beams and its own en-suite shower room complete with shower and WC. There’s also a lovely twin room as well as stylish family bathroom complete with s shower over the bath and a WC.
Accessed via six stone steps behind the neighbouring cottage, the raised, sloping back garden is a lovely, relaxing space. Off-road parking is available for two cars in front of the cottage.
