Pairing traditional design elements with a contemporary style, this Grade II listed property has been lovingly modernised to provide the perfect base for a stay in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Experience one of the National Park’s very best lakes with a stay here in Bowness-on-Windermere, just a 500-metre walk from Windermere lake itself where boat trips, wild swimming and water sports are on offer. The village is quaint and pretty, visit the famous Beatrix Potter Attraction (0.5 miles) and chose one of many welcoming pubs as your favourite watering hole. The town of Windermere is just 1.5 miles up the road and is well worth a visit too, perhaps walk along the banks of the lake to get there. Further afield you’ll find plenty of fells to summit including The Old Man of Coniston (13.5 miles) and the towering Scafell Pike (12.5 miles) – don’t forget to pack your trusty walking boots.

Handsomely presented with a pretty garden and white-washed façade, this cottage is certain to wow from the moment you arrive. Step inside and discover a contemporary décor with traditional accents including the original wooden beams and slate flooring. A stylish kitchen/diner is a bright and cheerful space in which to prepare meals, complete with a dining table sat by the window. Make use of the electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and microwave to prepare locally sourced produce, clearing everything away into the dishwasher once mealtimes are done. Carry on through the ground floor and into the lounge, an inviting space to spend your evenings. Mid-century inspired seating options face a wood burner and Smart TV – everything you require to stay entertained as day turns to night. Head on upstairs to find two spacious and inviting bedrooms. Both of these rooms are super-king-size with zip-and-link beds, catering for a variety of guest makeups. Both rooms also feature a TV offering the potential for lazy mornings spent lounging in bed. Finally, the property is completed by a sleek and stylish family bathroom with WC and shower over bath.

Along with assured parking spots for two cars, this accommodation comes with a private garden for your enjoyment. Appreciate the pretty flowerbeds whilst sitting at the bistro furniture, sipping a morning coffee or end of day tipple.

This cottage was in such a great location. We loved our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable which was great, and the enclosed garden meant our dogs could be outside most of the time. The lounge was smaller than it looked online shop not a lot of space but everything else was great... good shower and very clean kitchen. Would recommend.

Four adults and a dog had a brilliant holiday at this cottage.Very clean and warm, comfy beds and lots of hot water. So near the centre of Bowness but lovely and quiet with a nice garden to sit out in. Bit cramped when trying to serve up meals and some updated pans would have been appreciated.

Lovely cottage, well placed for amenities in Bowness. We had a problem with the boiler whilst we were there but we managed to fix it ourselves. It was reasonably well supplied for our arrival and ideal for dog owners. We found taxis in the area rather unreliable so worth noting if you need one but that's nothing to do with the cottage itself.
