Featuring plenty of charming original accents including sloped ceilings and traditional oak beams, the farmhouse nature of this property hasn’t been lost through its renovation to suit modern groups. Sit in the cosy lounge/diner where a wood burner and Smart TV with Sky await, perfect for spending cosy nights curled up together after a hearty home-cooked meal has been enjoyed. Said meal can be prepared in the adjacent kitchen which gives way to the pretty gardens. Featuring outdoor furniture, this tiered enclosed garden features a patio and lawn space for spending sunny evenings outside. Set off and follow the River Leven (0.5 miles) upstream to reach Lake Windermere (2.5 miles), one of Cumbria’s finest lakes with boat trips and water sports which be experienced throughout your stay. On the way, you’ll pass the Lakeland Motor Museum (0.5 miles), a fine day out for car lovers, and the towns of Bowness (9 miles) and Windermere (10.5 miles) both offer a similarly charming day out. Of course, you can always venture south to explore Cumbria’s dramatic coastline, observing Morecombe Bay from Grange-over-Sands (6.5 miles) and stopping off at foodie Cartmel (4.5 miles) for dinner.

We arrived at Robins nest after a very long 9 hour drive. Feeling tired & fed up we went into the holiday cottage and our spirits were immediately lifted. Absolutely fabulous stay. The cottage was exceptionally clean and so well equipped and thought out. The welcome basket was so generous along with items in the fridge. It was super cosy with plenty of fire wood for the evenings. The cottage is only 20 minutes from beautiful Windermere. We didnt want to leave and would definitely return.

We stayed at Robyns Nest for four nights. (Four adults two kids and one small dog). The accommodation was absolutely spotless and cosy. The kitchen was very well equipped. The cottage went way above our expectations, the location was perfect not too far away from the centre of Windermere lake but close enough to access the attractions and lake cruises at Lakeside. A perfect quiet property with great access to all of the Lake District. Steve and Karen have really thought about everything you would need. This is a very comfortable and cosy cottage, with everything you could wish for, even your furry friends. A beautiful garden to sit and relax in with stunning views. The most comfortable beds we have ever encountered and lots of charming walks on the doorstep. The only thing people need to be aware of is due to it being an old property the stairs aRead morere quite steep and the garden is also on a gradient. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here if your looking for a comfortable holiday. Hide
