Tastefully furnished, attractively decorated and thoughtfully refurbished, this stylish property makes a lovely holiday base for eager walkers, cyclists and nature lovers exploring this beautiful part of Cumbria.

Entering this refreshing and spacious property, the bright hallway features a small snug area and opens into the cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Featuring a Smart TV and plenty of seating, the charming lounge is a perfect space for everyone to unwind in. The central dining area is ideal for sharing all your favourite family meals which you can rustle up in the fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs, there are four colourful and individually styled bedrooms to choose from: a twin, a double, a smaller double and a super-king-size room, along with an invigorating family bathroom. Outside, the enclosed back garden offers plenty of seating, a fire pit, BBQ and storage space for bikes and sports equipment, and makes a delightful spot for a morning coffee.

Gosforth has several great places to eat and drink, and makes a great base for activities including walking, golf, paddleboarding and kayaking. Places of interest within easy reach include the beautiful Victorian seaside village of Seascale, the sand dunes at Drigg and the beaches at Braystones and Ravenglass (all within 6 miles). Also nearby are Muncaster Castle (6.5 miles), the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway (6 miles) and Blakeley Raise Stone Circle (8.5 miles). Heading eastwards, highlights within the Lake District include the Wasdale Valley, Wastwater and Scafell Pike (all within 8.5 miles).

Orlando was a very lovely property in a nice quiet little village. The equipment in the property was in great condition. The whole property was incredibly clean and well maintained. My family and I had a wonderful stay.

Immaculate, well equipped, cosy home. Close to a great pub for food and a rather lovely Italian restaurant just 5 minutes walk away. Sadly the local shop was closed due to a fire, but when back in operation would be an even more perfect base to explore the area. Nice enclosed space for dogs which was easy to keep clean. Lovely house has everything you need , unfortunately the shop caught fire in the village so there is no village shop at present.

Orlando is a terrific holiday home. We were welcomed with our four dogs and found every aspect of the house perfect for our needs. It was warm, clean and comfortable with lovely beds, all the equipment we needed, a well-appointed kitchen, a great outdoor space and plenty of places to sit around a huge TV! Really well thought out property and very well equipped. Clearly and great owner and brilliant cleaner. Comfortable beds, nice towels, lots of space. Brilliant storage. Great garden. Location is perfect for walkers but a little remote for families. Village is cute. Lion and lamb pub was great. Really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is perfect ! Beautifully decorated and in a beautiful village . Village shop , bakers and pubs galore . Mums 81st and son in laws 31st birthday well spent . Would recommend to anyone with dogs and a large family as an ideal get away .

Nice cottage with safe enclosed garden for dogs. However, watch the road outside the front door which can get surprisingly busy at times. Close to some great pubs which are all dog friendly. Local coastline very under developed and great for long walks. Access to the Western Lakes is easy from here. This property is in a lovely village with lots of amenities and handy access for visiting other locations. The property itself is very nicely decorated and well maintained. An ideally located cottage, in a brilliant village setting, close to the sea, and offering a chance to explore some of the less trodden areas of the Lake District. Great for dog owners with ceramic floors throughout downstairs - easy to keep clean! Lovely comfy bedrooms, a very warm cottage for our late winter break.

The cottage was beautiful, decorated to a high standard and spotlessly clean. It was very well equipped and the welcome basket on our arrival was another lovely touch. It was situated in an ideal place with pubs and a shop a five minute walk away. The Lake District was an easy driving distance away with lots of lovely walks to go on.

Lovely cottage in a lovely village, ideally situated for the coast and Western lakes. Small local shop for basic food/drinks and 3 nice pubs within short walk, the Kellbank just 100mtrs away, really nice food and drink. Plenty of room upstairs, 4 generous bedrooms but lounge seating would be tight if more than 4 or 5 adults. Very dog friendly.
