Nestled in the Lake District’s peaceful Wasdale Valley, this rural retreat is enveloped by picture-postcard scenery. England’s tallest mountain, Scafell Pike, is just 4.5 miles away while the country’s deepest lake, Wastwater, is only 2 miles and makes for a wonderful walk. The neighbouring valley of Eskdale is 6.5 miles away where you can hop aboard the famous Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway, take a stroll along golden sands at Drigg Beach or visit the historic Muncaster Castle. And when you’re feeling peckish, the valley offers a wealth of friendly pubs and eateries to enjoy – the nearest pub is only 2.5 miles from the cottage if you fancy a night off from cooking.
Open the wooden picket gate and head inside this charming, studio-style accommodation with its sloping ceilings and Velux windows. The open-plan layout, which is all on one level, features a living area with a TV and an inviting high quality L-shaped sofa that can be converted into a double bed with mattress topper using the bedding provided. At the other end of the room is a galley kitchen area which is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, and built-in fridge/freezer, as well as a dining table and chairs for two. A door leads from this kitchen area to the bathroom which features a WC and shower over the bath where you can look forward to a soothing soak after a day in the great outdoors.
Outside, the enclosed, fenced garden boasts a generous lawn and is a lovely spot to unwind and soak up the far-reaching views of the surrounding fells. On a sunny day, dine alfresco using the bistro-style table and chairs on the patio.
