Bring your walking boots and explore the natural beauty spots of the Wasdale Valley from this cosy cottage for two, or simply put your feet up, relax and admire the surrounding Lake District fells.

Nestled in the Lake District’s peaceful Wasdale Valley, this rural retreat is enveloped by picture-postcard scenery. England’s tallest mountain, Scafell Pike, is just 4.5 miles away while the country’s deepest lake, Wastwater, is only 2 miles and makes for a wonderful walk. The neighbouring valley of Eskdale is 6.5 miles away where you can hop aboard the famous Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway, take a stroll along golden sands at Drigg Beach or visit the historic Muncaster Castle. And when you’re feeling peckish, the valley offers a wealth of friendly pubs and eateries to enjoy – the nearest pub is only 2.5 miles from the cottage if you fancy a night off from cooking.

Open the wooden picket gate and head inside this charming, studio-style accommodation with its sloping ceilings and Velux windows. The open-plan layout, which is all on one level, features a living area with a TV and an inviting high quality L-shaped sofa that can be converted into a double bed with mattress topper using the bedding provided. At the other end of the room is a galley kitchen area which is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, and built-in fridge/freezer, as well as a dining table and chairs for two. A door leads from this kitchen area to the bathroom which features a WC and shower over the bath where you can look forward to a soothing soak after a day in the great outdoors.

Outside, the enclosed, fenced garden boasts a generous lawn and is a lovely spot to unwind and soak up the far-reaching views of the surrounding fells. On a sunny day, dine alfresco using the bistro-style table and chairs on the patio.

The location is stunning with the view out of the garden of Middle Fell. The cottage is a converted barn, so space is a little limited, as would be expected. However, it is really nicely decorated and is very cosy/romantic/bijou!! The bathroom is nicely laid out and the shower / bath is brilliant, especially after a days walking! Stunning outlook, totally worth it for walkers as numerous paths from outside the door. As an arthritis sufferer, the sofa bed was uncomfortable & I struggled after a week. Quiet location where you can switch off.
