You are just 5 miles from Cat Bells and can access Skiddaw, Latrigg, and Carlside fells on foot directly from the front door. Mirehouse and Gardens (2 miles) are well worth a visit on a nice day; you can walk here through the woodland at the back of the house. The mountain bike trails at Whinlatter Forest are under 7 miles away and here you will also find Go Ape, photography courses and a new series of CaniCross races, held in England’s only mountain forest.
As you walk up to the front door of this impressive house, you will be left speechless when you enter the entrance hall. The sweeping curved staircase takes centre stage and you will feel like a character in an Agatha Christie film set. It is furnished in period style, with original 1930s Crittall windows, antique Art Deco furniture and has unique styling throughout. The ground floor boasts a double lounge with a wood burner, TV with Sky TV package and ample seating for the whole party to catch up together. There is a cosy snug with a wood burner – this room offers a great place to sneak away to enjoy a moment of peace and quiet, read a good book, watch the Smart TV or make plans for your stay here. There is an elegant dining room which is ideal to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary and a large kitchen warmed by an AGA with a central island which has a breakfast bar to chat and enjoy a morning coffee. Head up the glamorous staircase to the first floor; here you will find the six bedrooms, all of which are individually styled and have a luxurious boutique hotel feel.
