Located within the unspoilt Eden Valley, this barn conversion is a perfect base for exploring the Lake District National Park (5 miles), Northern Pennines (15 miles), Hadrian’s Wall and the Borders (25 miles), or simply unwinding and taking a stroll or cycle in the surrounding countryside along quiet country lanes. Visit Ullswater where you can board a steamer for a relaxing cruise taking in the splendid scenery or hire kayaks, jump in for a swim, try your hand at fishing or ramble among the fells. Alternatively, enjoy days sightseeing at Dalemain Mansion and Hutton-in-the-Forest, both historic houses with attractive gardens, or the Roman Fort at Birdoswald. Visit a local village inn for a meal and drink, or head to the Border City of Carlisle (13 miles) or the market town of Penrith (7 miles) where there is a good selection of eateries, shops, local amenities and activities.

Unwind and relax, and make yourselves at home in this stunning and beautifully appointed converted barn, privately set within the grounds of the owner’s home. A converted and extended detached barn, it has been traditionally constructed and crafted with locally sourced materials to a contemporary design. Approached via a covered door, you will find the entrance room. This is oak framed and pegged, featuring floor-to-ceiling glazing with an open-tread oak staircase to the first floor. The Bowscar sandstone flooring is warm underfoot thanks to the underfloor air source heating. Sit in the armchair, read a good book, watch the abundance of wildlife and birds which frequent the garden or just soak up the view. Off the entrance room, there is a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a timber beamed ceiling, a Jotul wood burner, sandstone flooring and French doors opening onto the flagged patio area. The kitchen is a bespoke oak with granite worktops and integrated appliances. Off the entrance room, you will find a bathroom, tiled in Tilberthwaite green slate, with a level access shower. From the entrance room, head up the open-tread staircase to the first floor. Here are two king-size bedrooms, and an inner hall all with oak flooring and underfloor heating. At the top of the landing, there is a second bathroom, also tiled in green slate. The recessed ceiling lights in all rooms are controlled with dimmer switches.

Outside, there is an enclosed private patio to the front of the property with a table and seating where you can enjoy a good book or a glass of wine while listening to the birdsong. To the side, there is a grassed, wild and wooded area which is full of daffodils in the spring.
