This small, detached bungalow is set in Patterdale, just a mile from the bustling village of Glenridding at the foot of the Kirkstone Pass. It is a fantastic starting point for a range of great walks in the local area, including the valley of Deepdale between Ullswater and Brotherswater. A haven for walkers, local peaks include Helvellyn, St Sunday Crag and Stony Cove Pike (all within 5 miles). Other local walks include Place Fell (opposite the property). Lake Ullswater is less than a mile to the north, where you can enjoy a trip on one of the steamers. With stops along the way, you can visit the Aira Force Waterfall, Howtown and the bustling lakeside village of Pooley Bridge, where you will find plenty of welcoming pubs and restaurants. From Howtown you can walk back to Glenridding, this was one of Wordsworth's favourite walks and offers views of Ullswater and Helvellyn. Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens (11 miles) is also a great place to visit.
Set back from the road, Patterdale Cottage has off road parking for one car. The front door is at the rear of the property. There are two comfy bedrooms, the double room is on the left and single room is on the right as you enter the lounge is set at the front of the property, where you will find a cosy wood burner and lovely views of Place Fell. The kitchen is off the lounge and features everything you need to make a good hearty breakfast or a nice evening meal. Completing the property is the family bathroom. Although, the cottage is small it is ideal for two people either a couple or two friends. The perfect place to curl up and relax after a day out exploring.
To the rear of the property there is a small patio with a bench and a table with two chairs, and ideal spot for morning coffees or an alfresco meal. There is another bench at the front, nestled amongst the shrubs and foliage. The small outhouse at the back of the property houses a washing machine and additional fridge/freezer. This is an ideal space to dry off coats and walking gear. The property is a great base to explore Ullswater and the surrounding area with Windermere only 12 miles away and Keswick just a 30minute drive.
