Located within the Lake District National Park, just two miles from Ullswater, on the edge of the village of Dacre. Within easy reach of the Ullswater Steamers and a choice of enjoyable water sports. There is a great variety of wonderful walks straight from the door, including 20 mile walk around Ullswater lake. If you prefer other pursuits then visit the Rheged Centre for a great choice of shops, eateries, exhibitions and even a cinema. Alternatively pop to Penrith Station just 6 miles away and catch a train for a day trip to Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Step through the front door into the country kitchen, put the kettle on or open a bottle of wine, take off your shoes, and enjoy a comfortable seat in the lounge which is next door. Open the door from the lounge and you can listen to the chorus of birdsong and the babbling beck at the bottom of the garden or cosy up and enjoy the hypnotic dancing flames of the log burner. The open staircase from the lounge takes you up to the first floor where you will find the bathroom and two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both of which have views over the garden.

The cottage is just 300 yards from the owner’s working dairy and sheep farm which is just along the road; if you would like a tour or want to feed the lambs in spring, this can be arranged with them directly. One of the best cottages we have stayed in - comfortable, well equipped, lovely views. Squirrels in the garden every day! Handy for Pooley Bridge where we spent 3 days on a canoe building course. We would love to come back and stay here again.

Lovely cottage. Very clean and well equipped. Good location saw a red squirrel in the garden. Comfortable beds and at last, a sofa you feel comfortable sitting on in the evening. Good quality bedding too. We would stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Bridgend. The cottage was well appointed, very clean and comfortable. and we appreciated returning to a cool place after a hot day's walking. We stayed at the cottage week beginning 19th August for a week. It was so clean and had everything we needed, bonus there being Prosecco in the fridge. There is a stream at the bottom of the garden and it is so quiet and peaceful. One night, the farmers cows were next to the garden wall, that along with the red squirrels was beautiful. The cottage Read moreis roughly 4 miles from Ullswater so wasnt a problem to get out on kayaks. We loved it and will come back again. Hide
